Man, I've never been a fan of country till I listened to Blake Shelton. This guy is awesome.

    (can't emb it)

Anyone know any similar country singers? I couldn't stand country before this guy. Not to be racist, but most non-white people can't stand it y'know? Blake makes awesome music. Honeybee and Who are you when I'm not looking are also my favorites.

Does achy breaky heart count as country? That's all I know... and what a horror of a song it was.

Oh and some of the songs from Country Strong was not too bad.

I mean country songs that you will freely jam to while in the car or on your ipod, not country songs that are used for special occasions (dance off) :)

Wow I sure hope they do put achy breaky heart for dance offs. That would start a war (and not the cool dance war like Cedric The Entertainer told us about).

I thought this song was cute, but rather poppish. Good song to start it off when alone with the gf.

I just remembered, I like the Dixie Chick's rendition of Landslide.

But I don't think any of the songs I've named in this thread count as country :(

Old school Country, like Waylon and Willie and the boys, yes. Pop-Country (most of what you hear on the Country stations), no.

To me, the break point between good country and bad country is the willingness to sing about murder. I think Blake Shelton slips in there with "Ol' Red", and I do like Blake Shelton. His wife definitely meets that standard.

My favorite "Nashville" Country singer right now is Gary Allan.

Jontro: I just realized that the guy who sings that is the same guy in Tron Legacy. Wow. Is that his real voice too?

An okay song. The party behind that guy looks fun though. All these country songs make me want to dress and act like a cowboy! Okay that sounded gay.

Yes. I like that song. I really like "Whiskey Lullaby" by Paisley and Allison Krause.

I like real country, not pop country crap. Mostly it's called alt country these days.

I always start with classics like Hank Williams Sr., Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash etc. Then go with guys who hold true to that sound and spirit.

There's Dale Watson, Junior Brown, The Derailers, Dwight Yoakam, etc. I also like Robert Earl Keen, Wayne Hancock, Jimmie Dale Gilmore.

Stuff along that line is great stuff.
