I've said it in the other thread, and I'll say it here too. What about the possibility of Lin making Martin expendable? You put Lowry/Lin at the PG, and Lee/Dragic at SG. Dragic has already shown he can score, and he plays with Lowry at times. Kevin Martin's trade value >>>>> Jonny Flynn's.
Well, were currently under the cap correct? so any player tooken off our rosters salary would give us straight up cap space no? and as to my opinon on the matter i think it was based completely on flynn's rookie year and that he got injured, plus he was playing under the twolves staff. So the rockets were/are hoping he can bounce back to what he was his rookie year and possibly fullfill his potential.
Who's Johnny? Jeremy has spoken! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yA9WhYnsD_4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Why are people so misinformed about the situation? Rockets wanted to keep Lin, but they had to cut him in order to sign Dalembert. They most likely tried to trade Flynn in the process but there were no takers (not surprising).
Morey's is going to wind up cutting Flynn after the deadline anyway. NOBODY WANTS him. Not even as a throw in. He didn't pick up his option, so he should have cut him & kept Lin. Management kept the wrong guy for whatever reason, GET OVER IT!
Thats how Morey rolls. I know it wasnt his fault because he wasnt good enough to figure out how to get it done or bad luck or something. Poor Morey. I guess now we will just lose Lin and the position the Knicks would have drafted higher in the draft at is all. No biggy.
while, it sucks to let Lin go, he is not vastly better than Dragic. He is actually a less of guard than Dragic right now. I can understand Moreys decision. He likely wouldnt be a critical piece to take us to the next level this year. If he does pan out to be a special player in a few years, we wouldnt be able to keep him on a short term minimum contract anyways. All in all, it sucks to lose Lin, but its probably not that big of a deal.
he looks better than flynn. we had the choice to choose either flynn or lin, we chose flynn. at this point if it wouldn't cost you anything would you prefer flynn or lin as your third string? just an ankle sprain away from significant pt.
I'm so over the Morey is genius attitude here on clutchfans. Even when the guy is wrong or doesn't get something done he "tried or wanted to". As if other NBA GMs don't try or don't want to.
Flynn has always been hot garbage. The point is so will your Knicks draft pick if Lin turns out just decent enough to help raise their record in the East.
Your trolling and Morey bashing is getting more and more ridiculous. What GM in their right mind would use their amnesty clause(which was the only option)on a guarenteed contract that is EXPIRING THIS SEASON, for a unguarenteed contract, undrafted 2nd year player who is 3rd string on the Rockets at best. And making that deal just for the sheer risk of the player joining the Knicks and making them a better team. You know that NO GM in the league would do this, but you still are searching for every reason imaginable to try and bash Morey. You want to blame him for the Rockets not sucking, or not winning a title then thats fine, but your searching so freaking hard that you bash him for keeping Flynn on the roster instead of signing Lin is beyond me. Its time to read a book, take a long walk, or do whatever you need to do to seek solice. Bring down the hate down a notch please.
