To be honest, Rockets seem to hold onto all of their "assets" for too long. Which is why we, unfortunately, will probably end up a few games over .500 and miss the playoffs. I'm just hoping NY doesn't right their ship, then avoids some lotto luck so the Rockets can get a decent pick.
The only players we held on too long were Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. Could you blame the front office for hoping that they would stay healthy? I don't know. But no matter how much you like Yao or Tracy, those two superstar were suppose to win us multiple championship. Instead, they held us back - we are still suffering for rolling the dice with them.
So a team is only relevant if they win a championship? That year we formed our own big three with McGrady, Yao, and Artest. If we won our final game of the season vs. Dallas (which we could have if we hadn't blown a big lead) we would have had the number 2 seed. We took the eventual champions to 7 games without Yao for half the series, something that no other team did that year. I would definitely call that relevant. Then care to explain what happened? I'm quite sure that the NBA commissioner denied, or VETOED the trade for "basketball reasons."
This thread comes after Scola has a great game. He's the same defender as he was before he got paid. And he's been traded TWICE. Don't forget about the trade with the Suns that was agreed upon by both GM's for Amare, but submitted too late to the league office.
System? What system? That is just funny..... It is weird arguing with some people on the web about basketball you know, they tend to pigeon hole their beliefs into one way of doing things. There are multiple ways to succeed in the game, and you can even have contrasting styles on the same team. When AB was starting, and Lowry was relieving, they were a great contrast and the team was better for it. Now that Lowry is starting, and doing reasonably well, we don't have that contrast in the 2nd unit and well..... Not to mention our team has gotten worse - with it's new......system. DD
It's true, one was a 5-8 shooting guard who offered nothing other than shooting, the other was a true point who did a lot of things. The contrast was great, unfortunately it was so great that the 5-8 shooting guard was shipped off for spare parts and ended up in Guangzhou.
I think we should trade him this season, the whole original rox team is gone and we're not going on a champion ship run so as much as i hate to say it i see no reason to keep scola ( 32 and declining )
You GM look any better today after Jeremy Lin went off too? You guys need to stop talking before you look real bad this season.
Its really getting ugly for Morey and it can get uglier the way some fans on the Chron.com are talking about him now.
