Cot's baseball contracts is another good site for salary information.

    http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/

They give you a spreadsheet for future salary obligations and details of player/manager/GM contracts.

Man it sure will be a joyous day when Carlos Lee's fat contract comes off the books. Same for Myers, and hopefully we can trade Wandy.

Man, without those 3 + Lyons and the Astros salaries would be ~$20 million for the whole team, and that could easily happen by 2013.

By comparison, the lowest salary for any team in 2011 was $38 million by the Royals (followed by $42 million by the Rays and Pirates).

I'm looking forward to that! We need a youth movement in the worst way. Wouldn't mind signing guys and then later flipping them for prospects though.

If we are going to build a team that competes every year and keep a strong sustainable farm system full of outstanding prospects, it's very likely in 3-4 years when guys like Lyles, Cosart, Martinez, Paredes, Singleton etc. reach arbitration and have lots of value and can each be flipped for 2-3 top prospects each that Luhnow green lights it.
