    Seems like you're playing a game of technicalities.

    Obviously no one was known to lobby for bailouts when the bailouts weren't popularized as bailouts.

    Anyways, sorry for derailing thread.

    Not a bad post. I don't think it is accurate to pretend most folks vilify businesses in general like conservatives and their kissing cousins the libertarians vilify government.

    However, I really like your mention of the Port of Houston. Without the massive government spending to widen the Ship Channel, Houston would have remained a back water and Beaumont or Galveston would have been the big cities. The crazed haters of government, whether conservatives or Ron Paulites from around the area don't have a clue about this.

    thanks, yes i know they either don't know or have forgotten history. those who don't know it are doomed to repeat or in this instance, miss out on prosperity.
