yeah, he tried to pass it off as "accidental" when everyone who's watching on TV saw it. Ha!

And he even had the gall to mention Scola throwing the ball at his nuts. So it's premeditated? Retaliation since the last game?

He should watch his back, next time he's in Houston.

Or next time he plays a game with an Argentinian.

Kevin Love did a weaker version of a Suh (Lions) move, if he doesn't get suspended, NBA are crooks. He said he did it in the heat of the moment that right there is guilty, it is like saying I stole a car, I did it because my adrenalin is high. We really need bruto type players, like Kenyon Martin-type, not Scola, or Dalembert, both are too friendly against physical teams. Many teams will see the Rockets as hate-to fight and soft guys.

+ We now know Scola was/has been in Love's head playing mind games and Love can't take it.

+ Scola is a bigger man than most - for not just going crazy

+ We all knew Scola was a class act already - he just shows it even more.

+ When asked about the face stomp he talks the foul not being called on the drive to the basket the play before - his goal was to score and it didn't happen so that is why he is still upset.

+ It may not be a popular thing but I am proud to be a Rocket fan becuase we are NOT a bunch of thugs.

+ Love is weak minded now everyone knows - all coaches need to do hack at him (with 3rd string players) till he punches his way out of the game.

Everybody who's b****ing about how the team is soft and didn't have a reaction, NOBODY ON THE FLOOR SAW LOVE KICK HIM. The only teammate that was close to Luis was Lowry and you can clearly see him look straight down the court and not at Scola. You can also hear the commentators say that the bench got up and was furious. Scola did the right thing and not let it escalate. Love can pay for it by getting suspended.

Unless you idiots think a bench clearing brawl that gets half our team suspended is a good idea, take a look at the video again and shut up. Kevin Love is a dirty b**** and Scola treated it with class.

When I played in the minor league down under we had a guy intentionally put his knee into the jaw of our centre. A fight broke out which included kicks to the head etc.

I got involved after the head kick in an attempt to break up the fight; in hindsight it was fuel on the fire.

End of it the instigator 7 games suspension, our center who knock out his tooth 8 games, kick to the head guy 10 games...me 24 games!

Yes I did use some, just a little, force to break up the brawl but I guess I got 'D.Sterned'.

Moral is, you don't want your starters suspended or injured fighting or brawling, that's what the 3rd stringers are for.

Who cares? I love how everyone is certain it was intentional...like you've never been so certain of anything your entire lives. The guy was right there to apologize after the game and said it wasn't intentional. The bigger story is rockets took a beating as a team and lost. Who cares if scola got stepped on? Need some cheese with that whine?

    Neg-repped!

But only for this post. Good poster otherwise.

Surfguy, his reference to the previous incident and the "heat of the moment" comment clearly indicate that it was intentional. Plus, just look at the clip - he even looked down to make sure he wouldn't miss.

Yeah, the loss sucks as well. But this is still a legitimate reason to be mad.

He should have been there to apologize right at that instant.
Stepping on someone is an egregious offence

The league won't do a da** thing... Stern hates the rockets and Love is an allstar. Scola is a nobody, sorry... I would love for Love to get suspended and/or fined, but its not going to happen. End of story, its time to move on and focus on other things...

I hate these "Stern hates the Rockets" posts. Lazy, self-indulgent, and just plain not true.

The foul was pretty blatant...and a near flagrant in and of it self.

The stomping of the face is not easy to pick up. If the officials missed the first foul the will miss the second.

The suspension and penalty will be severe. Stern does not take this stuff lightly. I expect at less ta 20k fine and a 5 game suspension.

Could be as high as 10. Clearly intentional....and done with significant force. Could have resulted in an injury if he had hit scolas neck. Should be a significant suspension.

I think it will be a 1 game suspension, maximum 3 games. It SHOULD be at least 5 games.

ESPN is running this on their NBA front page, "Love steps on Scola's head in win". Even NBA.com has an article insinuating that it was intentional. I think people noticed.

This says it all. If Love were truly sorry and realized it was a mistake he would have apologized prior to the end of the game. He didn't because he felt what happened was deserved (after a ball to the balls a week ago).
