so I did some google research....

We always called my sister chi-chi. And I have cousins who were called the same. I assumed it was short for chiquita or something like that. But according to the google it's spanish slang for...Boobs!

So...um....what's up? Does someone have some 'spaining to do???

HA! Yeah it is...strange. Spanish people will also add "sito" to the end of your name as a term of endearment.

Haha swoles living. Anyways, there's lots of things ppl call each other. Another one we use or at least my salvadorian relatives do, is nina when talking to the elderly. Like my suegra you have to call her nina X or she gets mad lol. The one I dislike is bicho.

 Dude. Why are you ashamed of your own pops or how he talks? That's nothing to be embarrassed about.

kidcave9, chilangos don't call each other primos... that's people up in Northern Mexico like in Monterrey or the entire Northern states.

That's because "-ito" is the diminutive form of an object or word, and adding an "s" sound to just join the 'ito' a lot better, like if you say "futbol", then want to make it diminutive, it's "futbolito", but if it's a "papá" it becomes "papacito" and if it is "papi" it's "papito." Come on, now.

Brush up on your Spanish, people. Am I going to have to start another "I'll answer all your Spanish language questions" thread again?

There are different types of Spanish speakers.

The more upper class "proper" ones and the ghetto or "naco" ones.

Why do men say "Who's your daddy?" to women?
Why do they call women "little mama"?
Why do they call each other "baby"? (seriously, how the hell did this get started?)
Why do women look at Matthew McConaughey and say "come to mama"? (I hope my friend is reading this)

Things that make you go .... hmmm.

Gorda or gordo is like calling someone "big mike" ...the translation isn't as literal as saying "fat"

It seems like everyone calls their baby that now, it's kind of annoying imo...they won't be chubby little babies forever..

Pappa is a Dutch word for Dad (just as Vader is a Dutch word for dad), Mamma is a dutch word for mother.
Pappie and Mammie can be used by children to adress their parents.

I was going through the Toll Road booth and since I didn't have an EZ TAG pass I had to stop and pay money. I was late, so I just threw the coins at the guy and it hit his face. He said something like punte el madry or something. I hope that means have a good day in Spanish, but he looked a little bit upset. I wasn't able to say thanks because I was in a rush.
