He will. Knicks will have a starting point guard. Morey will have his 09 pick asset. I think Jeremy Lin will be as good as Dragic or better.
Let Lin go instead of Flynn could be one of the biggest mistakes Morey made as Rocket GM. I know there is a contract issue, but nothing beasts basketball IQ as a PG, and Lin has got that.
Sometimes maybe just bias. Lin was the ONLY HS state basketball player in California History who was not offered a NCAA Division 1 scholarship. And of course he was not drafted after being finalist of Bob Cousy Award and John Wooden Award. He deserves to getting extra attention because he has to make extra effort to prove himself than other players like those 09 1st rounders we have.
1) People actually...LIKING a player. People being FANS of someone, kids looking up to others, people CAN'T do that? 2) INTENTIONALLY trying to make YOURSELF the center of glutton-for-punishment attention, making MOCK outrage about the whole thing and making outrageous claims. Which one is more "out of line" than the other? The important part here is to RECOGNIZE what makes something truly ridiculous in the first place. I mean where the hell are you even going to find a donkey, as though you have some access to that. No need to talk of out your (pun intended) "ass". No one cares about you, they care about Jeremy Lin's heritage and basketball skills and thats that. I rip on Tebow fans about being annoying with their religion, but I wouldnt dare think that they SHOULD NOT be fans and have long threads about him..

Nothing that hasnt been said before - The Jeremy Lin following partly is his Asian ethnicity. And OBVIOUSLY a huge hunk of it is thhe HARVARD acedemic backing. The "wonder kid" element has always appealled to people. Ryan Fitzpatrick in the NFL has a LITTLE more appeal than usual because HE went to Harvard, and he ACED the Wonderlic test with a record score. There's also more of the GEEK crowd out there that follows sports (or more sports fans are geeks, vice/versa). The techies, gamers and "Comic Con" types who probably don't relate as much to Kenyon Martin and JR Smith. Its just the how it is.
Id be willing to bet that if Ryan Fitzpatrick was Asian he would be much more popular than he currently is and there is nothing wrong with that. As great as tiger woods was in his prime a lot of his popularity was a result of him being black.
He'll score 25+ again. The dude can shoot and he's smart. Crafty guys like this hit big pretty frequently.
What makes you think he can shoot? He is good at getting to the basket but not that great of a shooter. Even in his breakout game tonight he didn't shoot the ball that well.

Don't know why people have problem with Asian fans rooting for Lin. Omri Casspi has a ton of Jewish fans buying tickets to see him during road games. Easy to get the rooting interest of a population focused on one guy when he is pretty much only one representing the population in the NBA. I am sure many black people were rooting for Jackie Robinson, too, and the Dodgers probably drew a lot of Mexican American fans back when Fernando Velenzuela pitched for them.
The stereotype of Asian men is that they are small, weak, frail, etc. This is particularly true of Asian-American men, who seemingly avoid the "warrior / ninja / stealthy villain" stereotype of men in Asia. That an athlete can dispute those damaging stereotypes so effectively is cause for celebration, especially amongst those who have been victim to the stereotypes before (the Asian-American community). Of course Asian-Americans are psyched to see Lin perform well. We should all be happy these stereotypes are being challenged.
I think one thing people are forgetting is that Lin would have been our 3rd string PG and likely would not have gotten the playing time to show what he really has. Even if he showed it in practice, I doubt they would bench Dragic. Sure, exceptions can always be made (playing one of them at SG), but the most likely scenario is that Lin would not have received the playing time in Houston. We should be happy for him, NY seems to be a good fit for him, they need a PG, and he's received the opportunity to show what he can do. Had we kept Lin, we'd still have to pay Flynn's contract. I think that, and the fact that Morey wanted another 09 asset to be available for trade, were the deciding factors. Pugs
