Kevin Love downplayed the incident with Scola. "I've got size 19 feet. ... I had nowhere to step." Love was asked if he thinks the league should review the play. "I personally don't think they should," he said. More Love, on Scola: "I got kind of tripped up. ... It happened to be his face, just like in Houston where it happened to be my groin."

So let's get this straight... Love is upset about a no-call on a previous play. He flagrantly fouls Scola across both arms, in the process Scola gets flung to the floor (an obvious call the officials all somehow missed). As the ball goes the other direction and Love and Scola (still on the floor), and as the replay clearly shows, Love looks down at Scola's head and steps on Scola's face. Again, no call. Love is now down the court and Scola is still on the floor. Again, no call.

Y'all can argue whether Love was trying to avoid Scola's face after looking directly down at Scola. Y'all can argue whether Scola somehow caused the foot to stomp on his face. Heck... y'all can even blame Scola for somehow flinging his face up at Love's defenseless sole.

Morey will probably send a video to the league. We've seen how much good that does. Hopefully McHale will look at a video of the play and say something to protect his players. And hopefully someone on the Rockets team will do something so that other team's will stop pushing us around.

I am not looking out for the league. I am looking out for the Rockets. There should be some semblance of following through on rules for every team and player regardless who the player is involved or on the receiving end.

I sympathize a bit with Love. I mean you'd be frustrated too if your pissant uncle Mike was responsible for "Kokomo"

I still can't believe that they missed the foul that put Scola on the ground.
    Absolutely unbelievable.

Wow. Right after he apologizes he hints that it wasn't an accident...

Right. He then gives his motive by saying he remembered Scola nailing him in the nads the game before.

Kinda runs against the PR thread of "going in the locker room to apologize.", eh? It was Scola's fault... his face left me nowhere to step. I tripped, oopsie. And after all, they did something to be before..."

Suspend his punk a$$. Or the players take up a collection for the suspension Adrien will undoubtedly get for clotheslining the SOB next time they play...

Added video to the original post of Scola's locker room media session where he talks about the play.

This team is "classy" and SOFT!

When your MIT GM have to police what's happening on the court, you're SOFT. The team just doesn't have a tough mindset at all. I know one thing, had Love stomped Mchale in his day, the next time Love had taken a shot he would have gone down HARD!

great interview. Scola was more mad about the foul they didn't call before.

That was pure class from Scola, damn.

    Lebron needs to take notes.

LeBron has a bunch of hanger ons telling him his crap doesn't stink and a mama who did the same.

Scola had a dad who told him to suck it up, rub some dirt on it, and get back in the game.

BTW, I hope no one here buys into the "maybe it wasn't intentional" thing. This is not a homer/biased view -- it was flat out intentional. You could see before the play that Love was very angry... I've seen Scola flop before several times, but he doesn't go down that recklessly. You can see from the replay that Love clobbered him because he was still pissed from the no-call on the other end.

He looked down. He came down with force on his leg. No question he stomped on Scola intentionally.

It was classy, but I have to wonder if it makes it easier for the league to sweep this under the rug.
