I want a contract(basketball equivalent of a mob hit) on love just as much as anyone here, but that love hurts pic made me laugh.

**** love! And scola is Charmin toilet paper! Scola should stand up for himself, especially since the refs arent calling the foul. If love steps on you, throw an accidental elbow or throw the ball to his nuts again. I'm very disappointed with scola.

    ok

after rewatching this I have to say that it seems like Love's leg got caught up on Scola's arm and therefor he tripped/placed his foot over Scola's face

now I am not so sure if this was really intentional...

Scola is like Battier where nothing is personal, his opponents might as well be faceless androids. He just plays.

I seem to remember him being more physical on defense when he first cam into the league (in fact he kept getting into foul trouble).

he used a short stride because scola was on the floor you use shorter strides when youre unsure of where to step, there wasn't much room to step on between him and scola...nothing uncommon about that, if scola stayed put it may not have happened. I can see love not caring he did it at the moment, but cant see it being intentionally planned. Hell, i've done something similar. One moment u think you have your steps covered and the guys hands come up and you're fighting to stay balanced.

Such a dirty play. I think I lost some respect for Kevin Love.

    Huh?

He should've put Love's ass through the floor, and everyone who saw Love's face stomp would've understood. No way Barkley, Malone, or numerous other power fowards would took it like lying down. This is the 2nd time Luis has recieved a cheap shot like this.

Because scola stayed calm, everyone else did....if scola had gone after love it would have triggered a chain of events, mainly the benches clearing...

If it was not intentional, Love could have at least turned around and signaled an apology to Scola immediately after the incident.

    He didn't even look back.

Doesn't matter if your team needs you to score, if there is a dangerous hit on another player, you have to feel some remorse and need to apologize immediately. It's just a game, and that sort of contact is not expected or allowed.

How does an official miss that foul call? I can understand missing the stomp, but how do you miss that foul?

Educating the fans? Right! We all have access to youtube footage of 80s era Dream just like you. Quit derailing this thread into your "hey look at me, I remember old school basketball stuff!" We get it! Just because not everyone here jumps around like some ADD monkey about Olajuwon and the "golden days" doesn't mean we are not knowledgeable about it or look upon it fondly. Sheesh!

yeah I thought "they" was referring to Scola's teammates, as if they wouldn't be willing to defend him, my mistake

The Rockets, and Scola in particular, responded to that play in the right way. They played harder, and they closed the lead. Scola returning with another cheap shot wouldn't achieve a damn thing. He doesn't need to resort to that crap to demonstrate his toughness or competitiveness.

b**** move by Love. But I'm more disappointed in how nobody came to scola defense on the court. I'm not saying I want a big brawl but you cant let a man disrespect you like that with out defending yourself.
