...who gives a *****? no offense but we shouldn't care how he is ranked around the league, we should care about the wins he gets us. Hustle players, especially of lowry's size are always overlooked so i doubt he will ever be called a top 3 point unless he starts throwing it down, nailing 3's like crazy or doing flashy passes.

This is so true, the real question should be is he good enough to be a championship team's starting PG, and that answer is a resounding, yes.

Deron Williams has absolutely nothing to work with this year. That nets team has nothing but decent bench players.

The fact that Kris Humpries and Anthony Morrow are the next best players says all you need to know.

I'll still take him over anybody except Rose and CP3.

I'm not a huge fan of these offense first PGs that are dominating the league right now. With the exception of maybe isiah, all championship PG's have been distributors or role players. I want a guy who runs the show and plays D.

Yeah, let's forget all about Tony Parker, Magic Johnson, Kenny Smith, Derek Fisher...on and on we go....

Most championship PGs are also guys you can count on to score the ball too.

    I hate this phrase.

Derek Fisher has probably been the worst PG in the league for a few years and he is good enough to be a championship teams starting PG.

True, but a lot of guys are good enough if you build the team to utilize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

As Morey said, Aaron Brooks was also a guy that was good enough to start on a championship team.

It just depends upon the role and the rest of the team honestly.

Aaron Brooks on a potentially stacked Lakers team....
Now Houston is nowhere near that.... with Les only interested in a Picasso than a championship team

We need at least a Parker, Curry, CP lite, DWill prime, Kidd near prime

Actually if you consider only this season Wiliams doesn't even deserve to be on the list. I think the top 3 pgs right now are Paul, Rose and Rondo, next you have a 2nd tier of guys like Lawson, Rubio, Parker etc including Lowry. Maybe WIlliams can get back on that 1st tier but first he has to prove that he can get back to that level, he's playing like garbage right now.

Its hard to say who is better in the 2nd tier, because most of those guys are young and they perform inconsistently. For example, Lowry started the season on fire and played like a superstar, hitting half court 3s and averaging a near triple double a night. Now his performance has slipped a lot and he's missing shots he made earlier in the season.

Is Lawson's name in this group some inside joke which I am not in on?

They say it is a "point guard's league" but the only PGs to win finals MVP in the past 20 years are Tony Parker (once) and Chauncey Billups.

He's been MIA recently. Nope, he's not even top 6 in the West.

Ain't me that jinxed the man, I like him well enough, but I prefer a scoring PG to one that gets by on hustle and guile.

Wait wait wait, let me see if I understand this correctly

    ppg: lowry 14.6 williams 20.2
    apg: lowry 8.1 williams 8.8
    rpg: lowry 6.1 williams 3.7
    fg%: lowry .393 williams .404
    3p% lowry .337 williams .343
    ft% lowry .863 williams .839

We can look at that and say "yeah, Williams isn't even as good as Lowry" Oh wow.

Lowry plays elite defense whereas DWill hardly plays any.
