I wonder if the Rockets backed out after Hill's strong play in the last few games?

Wow I hope it happens, it'll open spots for Marcus to be practicing with the team

more realistic... NO wanted all of our picks and we weren't willing to part with them for a season rental and expiring contract.

No. We backed out because Stern is playing GM and being stupid. He has no business playing GM and I hope he gets his butt burned doing it.

Another hyped up trade that isn't happening... y'all will understand how this works once you get tired of seeing Morey strike out at the plate.

You'd have Morey cave to Stern's demands? Why not wait until the deadline when the Hornets have to decide between getting nothing or the Rockets offer, which appears to have been the best on the table?

Ok i hear ya! Morey just needs to do what he promised to do... this team has missed the playoffs for 2 years now. Not saying his job is easy just saying he needs to bring better results and less excuses.

What a surprise, posturing tactics from a team owned by Stern. Why doesn't he just tell Morey that we'll never get a call again from the officials unless we relent?

Is this any different than Morey's posturing before the McGrady trade?

I was surprised when I looked at his stats on the year. Efficiency is up a bit, fouls are down a bit, blocks are up a bit, and most strikingly, his rebounding rate has really jumped. He's snagging 12.2 rebounds per 36 minutes which is nearly elite-level rebounding. His PER is 14.8 which is starter level, although I think his actually value is a bit lower than that because he's soft in the parts of defense which PER doesn't measure.

Hill's numbers right now look better than the actual player that he is. Hopefully Morey can entice people to bite on him and ship out the 09ers for a contributing C or SF.

Hill's biggest weakness is defensive positioning. He's an average one on one defender and a terrible help defender.

As the season progresses, we should be able to target various 'buy low' candidates from teams who have useful players that don't fit their long term plans.

Ex: Odom, Kaman, S. Jackson, A. Jamison, A. Blatche, A. Randolph, A. Jefferson, etc.

    Even this is being nice.

No big deal, Kaman weasnt going put over the top. IF they didnt like the offer of the 09ers then fine. Take your plate off the table and starve.

None of those players would be Morey pickups. Buying low is one thing, but buying these players would be like Buying Milk on Sale after the date has expired.
