I don't doubt that Patterson has more potential than Hill. I have been frustrated with him not seeming to make a rebounding effort. Looks like last game was better...maybe he saw this thread :p.

Maybe, but he still got out rebounded by our quitting backup SF.

This is just nitpicking .... He made it up with 2 blocked shots and +- 13.....
You don't seriously throw in Budinger? I compliment him on his double double though.

No faith in Hill. He has a low basketball IQ with above average athleticism. Hill makes those plays that make you scratch your head and wonder. Patrick is starting to get healthy, and his jump shot and help defense are already pretty darn good. He does need to work on rebounding and his low post game. Patrick is only in his 2nd year and coming off injury so I expect him to keep making improvement throughout the season.

A lot of those rebounds went straight to Bud, but I definitely liked seeing him attack the basket!

I like them both. Ppat hopefully is breaking through the mental wall that injuries tend to put up. He looked better last night. I like Hill and still think we should have extended his contract. I remember Bill saying that Hill was still feeling the effects of the flu ten days later. After that point he has been noticeably better.

Seriously Jordan Hill is a joke when it comes to consistency. Patterson coming off the injury is climbing the ladder to consistently playing good. Hill tripped over the first step on that ladder.

Why does everyone keep saying his option was for $2 million. His option was for $3.63 million for next year from every source I've seen. How much 'more' do you think he'll really get in the open market?

At this point, it is encouraging to see that his contribution has improved, but he's still more 'roster filler' than indispensable. If he continues to improve, there's nothing to prevent us from resigning him for next season.

Drexler said it best..Rockets are 8 deep for sure. 9 deep when Jordan Hill shows up.

I agree. Not picking up his option was the correct move, and I suspect his improved play is actually tied to that.

With Patterson on the books and Motiejunas coming over next year (plus we still have Scola), it really wouldn't make much sense to keep Hill at 3.6 million. Like you say, I doubt he'll get offered much more than that.

PatPtat does not look surprised when he hits a jump shot, while Hill does.

Patterson continues to shoot a very high percentage on his mid-range shots. His FG% is way down closer to the basket, but the reason is very clear. His explosion is gone. I think he's only had one dunk all year. Presumably, he should recover the burst he had last season at some point. Then we should see him being more effective finishing around the basket, on his post-ups, and also on the boards.

There is no argument. P-patt all the way. He is smarter and better on defense and offense. Jordan is very stupid when it comes to basketball, but who knows he could improve drastically... but i doubt he could ever be better than Patrick.

Hill has all the tools to be a very good player. I just don't see him putting it together over a career.

Not to disrupt all the statisticians but I've seen Hill and Patterson play plenty. J.Hill just does not pass the smell test. Inconsistent. Contract Year. Stromile Swift with less hype. Maybe a little smarter too.

I loved PPat last year. His play has been alarming this year but I really do think it is the injury. Guy is just not jumping or moving like he used to. We are basically seeing PPat - his athleticism.

Think of what it would be like to watch Jordan Hill - his athleticism. Not even sure Rio Grande would want that.

I think we can just end this whole thread if we could get everyone to imagine how Jordan Hill would be playing coming off ankle surgery.....

    Patterson > Hill

i understand hill getting rebounds and all but hes missing something. 2pat isn't missing anything the only thing he needs to work his post moves
