Where exactly is this job? 'Dallas' could mean a lot of places. It's like saying 'I live in Houston'. Big area.

Richardson- North Dallas. If you're single and young, Addison is your best bet. Lots of the 30k millionaires and Affliction D-bags in that area, but what are you going to do?

haha well I'm staying within my company and I don't think there are any Raytheons in Houston! I would have loved that though

I am single and young, but definitely don't like that douchey lifestyle. I'll look into Addison, thanks for the tip!

Ha, we have an office in Las Colinas that I've been out to a couple times. I didn't realize it had a negative connotation.

Dallas is a skidmark on the underpants of America.

it's pretty much the jersey of the south.

Don't get too scared, the city itself isnt that bad but there are a good amount of Dbags and pretentious people there. It's probably the least laid back and easy going of texas' big 4 cities.

Agreed- it's the only big city in Texas that doesn't feel 'southern' IMO. It's more of a business town than anything else. The D-Bags are like moths to a flame there.

Lots of cool stuff to do, and if you are so inclined, you can check out Ft. Worth as DFWRocket said. Downtown and 7th street are teeming with fun stuff for young and single.

Too bad you won't be moving to Texas, but at least you'll be close enough to visit.

Las Colinas doesn't have a negative connotation...but its basically just an area in the City of Irving. People that live in that part of Irving won't say they live in Irving..they'll say they live in Las Colinas...because they're embarrassed to say they live Irving.

More like 4, especially from north dallas to downtown houston. unless you drive way over the speed limit.

do NOT speed until after you clear Corsicana from Dallas...then your good until Houston. Those small towns north of Corsicana are killer..especially Ferris.

QFT! I always set the cruise control on the posted speed limit until I get to the 70 MPH segments. Total trap - use caution!

Welcome to the metroplex, hope to see ya at one of the CF.net get togethers.

My advice if you work at Raytheon in Richardson, try to find someplace to live where you don't have to go South on 75 in the morning or North in the evening :) And 635 is the absolute worst, well, besides 35.

Also, enjoy the 9-80 rule if your division/group allows for it.
