Celtics and Nets are the last 2 teams in the back-to-back-to-back set. If the Knicks lose to the Nets, they will outtank Jersey for the 7th draft pick.
I think there's no need to keep an intense watch on the Knicks. Their pick look to be perfectly set in the 10-15 range. Basically they either squeeze into the playoffs or be a Rockets-type lottery team. Either way, we should be able to get a solid player from the pick. Or that pick is valuable part of a trade package at the deadline.
10-15 sounds about right. I don't think we're gonna get anything better than a 10. But in what looks to be another mediocre season for the rockets, it's always fun to see how bad the knicks mismanaged their trades and see how we're gaining from it.
I'm kind of scared that the pick drops to the 6th-7th best lottery odds and the Knicks are able to sneak into the top 3.
If they do not make the playoffs, they will not be higher than 11. At least 3, maybe 4, non-playoffs teams in the West will be better than the best lottery team in the East. (In other words, 12-14 will be occupied by Western teams.) There is a very good chance that the Knicks will end up in the 8-10 range.
Ok so the 6th has a 21.5% to get a top 3 pick,7th has 16% percent chance 8th a 10%, 9th a 6.1%, 10th a 4%, 11th a 2.9%, 12th a 2.5%, 13th a 1.9%, 14th a 1.8%. I might be too scared for 6th. I'll be just fine with 8 or 9.
Oh how nice it must to be a rockets fan, when the brightest story about this season is the Knicks pick
I'm thinking though that our pick plus there's may be enough value to move up in the draft to get a really good player...this is my hope...
I hope we can get Sullinger. I think Barnes is a good player, but wont be like Melo or anything. Is Drummond going to actually go in this draft?
Would be nice if the Rockets got the number 1 pick and selected Davis and then took Bradley Beal with the Knicks pick.
With Stern, I wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks won the lotto. Seems like this lottery is all smoke-and-mirrors anyway.
