Just responding to the thread topic, anything is possible. But if this is "it," I am underwhelmed. The players on this team have to be just sick of all the rumors and proposals, I am. I know it is part of the game, but everything pertaining to the Rockets seems to be known to everyone, more so than other "dealings" or least it seems that way.
Surely not, that isn't going to accomplish much. This team is so headed for another break even season; 9th spot, 14th pick, ugh.
It's more of a matter of NOH floating bits of info out there to promote bidding on Kaman. I don't think the Rockets are any more or less prone to this stuff than any other team. Look at the Celtics, each one of their "big 4" has been in trade rumors so far this season. There's talk in NY about shipping off Stoudemire. It's kind of par for the course for all NBA teams. We just pay attention more to news that mention the Rockets than those that don't.
Everyone on the board is about to call me half past clinical, but hear me out..... I say give them PatPat and Thabeet, and keep Hill. Hill is not a center, just as Chuck wasn't. I think his numbers will slightly improve guarding and being guarded by PF's. PatPat is only good for a mid range jumper and awkwardly wild shots in traffic. He doesn't bang, he doesn't rebound, and you can't teach Hill's hieghth and length. Hill may get knocked around but he is always under the basket in the middle of everything. He goes for boards. He crashes. He is much more aggressive than patterson. Watch the way he has been snatching boards lately. Much better long term back up for Scola.
it says that the pacers are also wanting kaman. do you think that we'll have a three team trade happening
The Pacers also want Gordon but will have to compete with the Hornets in the off-season, as he is a RFA. I can see them trying to swing something there.
No mention of Kaman on ESPN or other sites. It's either cooled off or something is imminent? Who knows.
Have you seen him play? I don't see how this trade helps the Rockets. yes, Stephenson's contract is very small, but it is still a contract with time left... the players you have the Rocket's trading away all could not count against our cap next year. Moreover, again, have you seen Amundson play? Plus, he doesn't play backup center, which we are trading away in this deal. If the goal is to get worse, though, while losing a little bit of offseason cap flexibility, this does it.
Nobody going to want to trade for him until next month closer to the deadline. The Hornets were dumb to think they could get a reasonable offer this far from the deadline. Put him back on the hardwood and let him stay in some sort of shape or trade him for what he's worth at this point. At the deadline its a different story. Everyone knows this. Good buyers are always going to wait for the deadline for the best deals. Demps has to be intelligent enough to know that this was poor timing for good offers, so this tells me that Stern is behind this trade once again making Demps seek the world for Kaman. Its getting ridiculous. Why would anyone ever want to deal with the Hornets again knowing how Stern does business?
We'll see who is wrong at the end of this year and the end of next year. Enjoy the delusional ride Morey is taking you on. This is not a math test or merely about statistial analysis... this about being able to convey the right kind of message with the right kind of image and sell to superstar/all star player. He lacks in that regard.
Screw David Stern I would never do business wth the Hornets until new ownership is in place. Fool me once
