How many 7 footers are in the NBA that are quick, rebound, handle the ball, shoot with both hands, and has range out to 20 feet? There are 5, and all but one of them have won a championship in the last decade. Duncan, Dirk, Gasol, Garnett, and Aldridge.

I'm NOT saying he's going to be a superstar. I'm just saying he has the potential to be one, and the chances of him being a very good player are better than 50 percent.

I do not think Morey should gamble on superstar free agents signing with us. Scola is a good player on a reasonable contract, I wouldn't give him up just to get an expiring. I think we'd have a better chance of using him in a trade to get a star, than we would to sign a star out of free agency.

Giving Scola up as part of a package to get Gordon, maybe... depends on what else is involved in the trade.

Sweet! He can't just come when his league is over(assuming it ends the same time those players that went to china are available to return)?

To sign Dalembert, we had to make Dmo commit to not playing this season. Plus, we don't this season counting against his 4 year rookie scale contract.

im down for including scola in a kaman deal for the cap room. if we get the FAs we want next summer then awesome but if we dont, then we suck, which is what half the people here want anyways

I didn't realize Landry is an expiring contract. He might make it possible to include Scola in the deal if Morey is looking to win now. Landry is still almost as good as Scola with similar strengths and weaknesses, and Kaman is a big bench upgrade.

Scola and Martin's multi-year contracts were given as a major reason by Stern for declining the CP3 trade.

There are posters who've been evangelical about trading Scola for some time now and keep on bringing him up in any situation but it's a fantasy trade for Stern to OK that now.

Morey needs to approach this trade like it's nothing. We don't really need a 33 year old center. Send them an offer and forget about it. That's what other GMs do. All he needs to do is be the top offer. That's not too hard. Stern has a grudge against the Rockets organization, and he would want more from us in any deal.

Morey is too aggressive sometimes, and I completely understand why. He wants to a pat on the head from Les.

Kaman isn't 33, he's 29, but I agree Morey should just offer a selection of '09ers and 2nd round picks and leave it on the table. NO won't find anything better and if they do, then let some other team get screwed

There's been more than a few stories that this is exactly what Morey does; one of the reasons why the Rockets are always mentioned as being aggressive in trade talks is because they by far propose more bad deals than anyone. I have little doubt that the Rockets offered the turd sandwich of the '09 busts as soon as the Hornets deactivated Kaman, the same way they offered the '09 busts for Biedrins and the #11. They lowball everyone, and when the other team comes back with an equally ridiculous counter-offer, they walk away, while the other team leaks their counter-proposal to the media in exchange for info on other teams. The Rockets don't leak deals; when they're close, it goes radio silent.

Nobody touted the '09 scrubs as getting Howard, or Gasol, you moron. Stop posting.

If it takes Thabeet & Hill to get Kaman, it would be a no-brainer! But I guess Stern wants more, like a draft pick. I'm willing to give them also Flynn and Wolves 2nd rounder ... that's it.

If we can get rid of Scola's contract or get rid of the 2009 busts Im all for it.

Yep. It would be pretty ridiculous if Stern demands our 1st round draft pick. He is really getting on my nerves right now. Morey is too because he insists on dealing through Stern only to possibly look bad again.

Rockets don't have a chance without a pick and at least Patterson.
