The Gordon situation is an odd one. He's going to be a restricted free agent. Being that he's the best player on their roster, I dont see him being allowed to become a restricted free agent with any other team, given he will command major dollars this summer.

I dont think the Rockets should take Gordon because the Hornets will ask the moon for him to be involved in the deal and you might have to pay near max level dollars to keep him this summer... and he is NOT WORTH MAX DOLLARS.

However, I would not be shocked if the Hornets tried to involve him in talks given the same reasons I just stated, but I wouldnt think Morey would be dumb enough to give up someone like Martin or Lowry for him. Add in the fact that he is injured consistently.... yeah. Unless you can steal him away from the Hornets, NO. Pass.

Unless he turns into an offensive specialist....... he won't be here for too long....
he is just inconsistent on offense and on defense.... while his offensive output has been good at times but not good enough to be a good 6th man

Yeah, the fact that SI threw in Patterson with the other 09ers like he was a similar "asset" to the Rockets was a givaway that this story was planted by the Hornets FO, or agents involved. No way the Rockets throw in Patterson unless its bringing someone like Landry or Gordon back.

I'm not sure I like the idea. Yes Kaman is one of the better centers, especially offensively when he's healthy, but he is never healthy and he is almost 30. The Rockets are not going to win anything this year. If you think otherwise you need to wake up soon. We need to build for the future, not for now.

If we give up Morris, D-Mo, or Patterson for this dude I will officially jump off the Morey bandwagon.

Meh they can have Hill, Twill, Thabeet, and even Llull if they really want it. I don't think Llull will be anything special. Will be a solid player but i'm not sure he'd be better than Dragic at all.

Lucky for us though Hill has played very well recently so maybe he will do.

This is a good point. Is Gordon at max dollars worth more than Martin at half of max? I say no.

Probably the right deal to give the Hornets. At the end of the day you have to give them SOMETHING other than just exchanging expirings for expiring.

I would rather part with Llull and resign Dragic if reasonable. I like Llull in the Euroleague, but the guy is going to be a huge defensive liability in the NBA his first few seasons. If he is intriguing to NO, then go for it. If they want Montiejunas... Hell to the No.

If you can give up nothing but lottery busts and maybe Budinger for him, why wouldn't you do it? He's an expiring contract so it's not like he will hurt anything.

They want young players, expiring contracts, and draft picks.

If they get Hill he's plenty enough. It's crazy if they expect to get the NY pick too. Whoever out of Flynn and TWill has the lesser trade value around the league can be the deal filler.

If reports are that the sides are "far apart" then more than likely the Hornets want much much more than the 09ers for him. You know, and I know they want that Knicks pick. If they cant have that probably #2 would be the rights to Montiejuas, #3 being two second round picks, or a future 1st.

Well obviously you say no if it requires Knicks pick, Motiejunas. A couple future seconds wouldn't be a big deal but only if the rest of the deal is Thabeet, Flynn, and T-Will.

You must be kidding right????.... If Montiejunas would have waited to come out this year he could have been a top 7 pick if not lower. He has that kind of "talent." Not saying he's going to be a superstar, but he has that kind of talent. You dont give up potential like that for an expiring contract.

-Again, Im saying "potential", he might suck, but he has the talent to be an true all star talent.

I agree, especially if the Rockets are bringing over Llull & Montiejunas this summer you are looking at a packed roster, and most likely selling off those picks anyways. This is the one year where they actually might be forced to give up 2nd round picks anyways because of roster space.

He's an expiring contract. The "30" deadline is about most wing players. For big men 30's are prime years as long as they aren't just athletic and nothing else.

Dalembert has been overrated on this board since the Kings game. He's come back down to Earth since then. He's still not the 7 footer or space eater the Rockets need.

Kaman could fill that role but more importantly roster space would be opened up for a guy like Fesenko who definately is.

Now that you said that D-Mo will be the Forward version of V-Span when he comes to the NBA.
