Interesting, i think thats pretty much nothing to get Kaman. Plus if he sucks then we can just let him go and go after someone with that 14 mil!

    Let's assume this gets done...

does he start? Does he replace Dalembert at the center spot?

I actually think Kaman could be an excellent 25 minute-per-game center if we could get him for Dalembert money ($7 mil per year). But i think this move is primarily about helping us reach the playoffs this year. He's another front-court defender with size and he's got a nice post game. God forbid something happens to Dalembert, and we will be struggling to make the playoffs. Kaman give us needed size, defense, and insurance. Having a Dalembert/Kaman platoon at Center should also help Scola's game a bit.

dude, I'm up for this as long as we don't include patterson. Hasheem, & Hill are fine, but for god's sake not patterson. totally not worth it.

Other than potentially Patterson... and maybe Jordan Hill, the Rockets would have had the same amount of cap room anyway. But every little bit helps. Patterson will make $2.1 million next year. So if traded, it'd be an extra $2.1 million of available cap space.

That's an interesting question. Clearly neither of them will be thrilled to be a backup.

I think Dalembert has earned retaining his starting job. If this trade happens, I think Kaman would come off the bench. And I wouldn't be surprised to see a "Twin Towers" lineup at times as well.

not that i recall. i was at the hornets/rockets game, and i'm not sure i noticed him.

but it sounds like we're talking about a backup center from your response and others i see here.

is this another move being done to set up another move sometime later?

I'd be fine trading our 09ers for him. He can lead up the second unit and will help especially because Dalembert can't play long minutes.

We're probably doing this for the $14m in expirings and I think that's smart.

We better make more trades at the deadline, though. Kaman is not helping our D in the starting lineup.

if we include that NY pick, we better get another talent along with the Caveman..and I don't know who it is..Gordon and Landry are the only good players on that roster...

Depending on what happens with Patterson I think you have a nice rotation of Sammy, Kaman, & Scola at the 4 & 5. You could even start Kaman/Dally and bring Scola off the bench.

After Kaman's showing this summer in the Euro tourney, I was very impressed with his health situation (knock on wood) and think he has alot left in the tank. Much like Martin, most of his injuries have not been chronic.

The only question is, is he worth the 2012 Knicks pick, because you know thats what New Orleans wants more than anything.

I would Definitely do it. As mentioned above, yeah Stern Owes us; big time.
