I am just getting HAMMERED with them. I never answer them, but every time I google the number, it comes back to some nameless home security company. I've tried blocking the number(s), but every time I add one to the list, I get more from another number a few days later. I'm pretty sure they are using some sort of call disguising software that gives a fake # to your caller ID. That renders any sort of call blocking app useless. The Do Not Call list doesn't work. I've been on it forever. Any ideas how to stop them?
I noticed this was extremely common when I was using T-mobile a long long time ago. Are you blocking them through your carrier? Also, checked to see that you're not subscribed to any text messaging services or something like that. Good luck
You should be able to sign into your account online with who ever your wireless carrier is. Or, you can call cx support
I'm blocking several through Verizon but they only allow a certain number of #'s. And these guys are disguising their callback #'s so blocking them doesn't do any good since they change them every few days. If there was a way to block a certain area code, that would be perfect. Or block all calls not from Texas area codes, or something like that. BTW, I have an iPhone with Verizon.
What I do is use google voice and add that number to my spam list. But since you are being called with different numbers it probably won’t work for you.
You might try to file a complaint with the FCC. They have an online form to do it. I use an app to blacklist numbers on my Android phone, but obviously with the changing numbers it won't help much.
The calls I can handle ( though I hate them and also reregister on the national do not call list every few months) but the spam TEXTS?!?!? that **** has to stop! i got charged $10/each for 2 random spam texts i got in December. I asked the AT&T rep, "what can i do to block these incoming texts?" he told me i could pay a $10/month fee to stop them. what the ****? i bet AT&T is behind the spam texts just to get people to pay a monthly fee to stop them. what a goddamned racket!
Blocking a # won't work with telemarketers any more than it does with email spam. They rotate #s. You have to get your number on the "do not call" list. If that doesn't work, then they are breaking the law. Does your phone have a "White List" versus a "Black List/Block List." A white list blocks everything except the number you let pass through. There might be a iPhone app or something that blocks everything not in your address/phone book.
