I think this is the only kind of trade the Bulls might actually accept. They need a center back, and they are in win now mode. I think this improves the Bulls (if you give Rose a shooter, Bulls are DANGEROUS) and makes the Rockets younger. I don't think the Bulls want to give up Noah either, but I just wanted to share the article.
Noah is one of the best young centers in the game. There are a lot more Kevin Martin like players out there than there are Noahs.
Noah is way overrated. And he basically has no upside left. He is what he is... Not to say he is a bad player, but he is 10-10 and I don't think he protects the paint as well all that well...
Noah is OVERRATED. He is a good center, not elite. Yeah, Dalembert isnt the solution at the 5 spot, but so isnt Noah. I've said it before, Im not a fan of Kevin Martin but he is important to this particular Rockets squad. We are under-appreciating Martin and overrating Noah here.
Noah for KMart is stupid. KMart is our #1 offensive player on the team and makes up the bulk of our scoring. Noah is a great defensive player but lacks any kind of offense. I wouldn't take him at all. It's a downgrade from what we currently have and it won't make us any more competitive.
Why? I don't understand, half the board seems to hate Kmart's guts and call him fool's gold, but then they don't want to trade him for Noah? SMH I'm a big Kmart fan but he plays in the position that's most common in the league. Dalembert's playing at an elite level but he's also 30 years old already. We need someone who's younger and would grow along with Lowry. Noah's that guy. The pick we're getting from NYC seems to be lottery level. Just resign Lee, then use the pick to draft Bradley Beal or Rivers, or use the pick and other assets to trade for Eric Gordon. Voila! Instant Kmart replacement.
At worst it'll be a long-term move. If it doesn't work and make us worse in the short term then we'll have two picks next year. At best, Lee and Dragic will flourish at the sg spot and we can move Noah to the PF spot and have an amazing defensive line with Dalembert and Noah.
You know, it's pretty smart. Noah, Scola, Lowry, expirings for Dwight, Hedo, Duhon could be the winner in the Dwight sweepstakes.
If they would give up Noah for Martin I would do it. But why would they do that? Trading Noah for Martin would cause them more problems than it solves.
He is top 5 center on defense. Everyone knows what he does so i dont think he is overrated. He might of had a slow start but he has picked up his game. Rockets can find another scorer a lot easier than a young center who can play defense.
If you want to look at the numbers Last year there were 21 players who scored 20 or more a game. 10 players averaged 10 rebounds or more. Year before 14 players averaged 10 or more rebounds and 19 averaged 20 or more points a game. Its harder to find a player that is an above average defender and rebounder at the center position than a scorer.
haha.. noah is so overrated here... - he is basically a energy and defensive big. - trading our top scorer for that is just not smart - is see noah on par with varajao and he's on my player hater list along with pierce, odom and gasol
IMO Noah is the most effective when playing with someone like Lerbron or DRose, He hustles, he rebounds, he gets put backs, not a lot of offensive input though.
If Martin could be flipped for Noah, then I'd do it in a heartbeat. He brings the interior defense and rebounding you need down there....youth w/legitimate size and skills.
Energy and defensive centers with legitimate size (who perform at an elite level in both those areas) are actually really hard to find and very valuable. I am in the camp that thinks Martin is underrated around CF. But I also think that we have a wealth of wing players and a dearth of centers. That's why I would do it, even though it's basically a lateral move.
Where are you getting this from? FIRST of all he is injury prone, ever since he has been a fixture in the starting lineup he has missed atleast 20 games every year, secondly his best statistical year was when he scored 11.7 points and grabbed 10.4 rebounds... why would you trade your best offensive player for a injury prone center that gives you that? (scola that same year was a 18 point 8 rebound guy) and so what if he is big, his career shot block avg is 1.3 one of the best young center in the league is not exactly what it is cracked up to be, in a league void of good centers heck you can make a cast for dalembert as being top 5, certainly top 10 .. so what?
he doesnt block a lot of shots and isnt exactly a beast on the boards .. so what does he do (statistically) that is worth giving up our best offensive player who in the last 10 games has been top 10 in scoring .. has better numbers than players like rudy gay, joe johnson
He has 1.8 blocks per 36 minutes over his career. That's very solid... and defense isn't just about blocking shots anyway
