Jordan Hill has improved. Giving him and Bud some DNPs so that they can stand back and just observe seems to have paid off. And it was a good motivating tool as well. Im pretty excited about Jordans ability to finish around the rim. Hes much better than PatPat in that regard. But the defensive breakdowns need to stop.
If the rockets trade scola, which they should, then maybe we can figure out what we have between patterson and hill.
I love PPat, but coach has to leave players who are hot in... Game stats Jordan Hill 13 mins 8 points 5 rebounds +8 P Patterson 20 mins 8 points 5 rebounds -4 SMH....only explanation is injury or D.M. Got a phone call at half time regarding a trade...
The only thing better is Hill's defensive rebounding. Bud is about the same. You are attributing that to McHale I guess? I guess it wasn't enough of an improvement for the Rockets to extend him.
Any team would have extended Hill. You guys just can't see through the hate. He wasn't extended, but he's going to become an RFA. The point is to make as much money possible to throw at FAs. If we find enough FAs to spend all our cap space, we won't re-sign Hill, but then, we won't mind.
Unrestricted is what Hill will be....not restricted....for that, they would have had to extend them a year. DD
His rebounding numbers are fantastic, but it is just disheartening to see his decline on the low block. A couple years ago, I REALLY thought he had some significant scoring potential, but he has, in fact, gotten worse. What happened to his hook he used to always go to without hesitation in his rookie year? His defense isn't good enough for him to be a complete ZERO on offense. He needs to get back to being a quick, aggressive scorer...
It could be that he is getting worn out trying to guard bigger stronger centers and has less energy on offense. DD
I don't buy that for a second. If he is too worn out to score in all his 12 minutes a game, he has no business ever scoring in this league.
I want to give credit where its due. He had a tough time guarding Duncan one-on-one, but overall he played well against the Spurs (esp. 1st half).
Agreed.. I was at the game and he really rebounded well.... In the second half his defense wasnt perfect but literally any time he so much as breathed on duncan he was whistled for a foul... it was sickening. He had a few lapses in helf defense . Honestly i think that if Scola is traded he should get some burn at PF ... he has shown alot of improvement this season and could be starting to fufill some of his potential.
I hope that he doesn't get traded in the Kaman deal. His effort on the boards is awesome, he has worked on that 15 foot jumper and can score on rolls to the basket.
