Facilitating I think our best shot is to facilitate the DHO to LAL trade - something like: Lakers get Howard + Scola + Turkoglu + Hill Magic get Bynum + Dragic + Thabeet + LAL 1st rounder + NYK 1st rounder Rockets get Gasol + Darius Morris Magic get rid of Turkoglu while adding Bynum, expiring deals, and picks. Rockets get Pau while giving up basically the deal they already agreed to but without giving up Martin and getting a backup pg on a cap friendly deal. Lakers get Front court depth and Howard. Turkoglu can still create match up problems despite being criminally overpaid. Lakers have money to spend.
http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/page/5-on-5-120131/nba-dwight-howard-trade-machine-thoughts Wallace: When you're in first place in your conference, it's hard to accept that you need anything to put you over the top. But if those painful losses to the Heat show the Bulls anything, it's that they need another reliable scorer to complement Rose. Why not call Houston and check on Kevin Martin's availability? If I'm the Bulls, I'd pitch Boozer but realize it might cost Joakim Noah. Chicago just won't beat the Heat in a seven-game series as is. do you think we can make a trade and get Noah or boozer
So the Lakers want three PF's and Howard? What about Murphy and McRoberts?? You obviously didnt think.
I think the Rockets could get Danny Granger now. It would cost them the package of Kevin Martin and someone else or Scola and someone else.
Kmart and a filler (T-will possibly) for Granger might actually work if they think Paul George is ready to fill Granger's spot at the 3. They need what Kmart brings: consistent offensive scoring guard.
Who you do this trade? I like it because it would clear our cap space by 20 million enough to go after 2 super stars since we'll have roughly 8 million be renouncing the 2009 draft players http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7p8xwoc NO does it because it gives them Scola whom they want and youth in W.JOhnson Mini Does it because they are a SG away and Bud would fit in as a starter at SF. Houston does it to clear cap space and Beasley is a better SF than Bud, and we get a back up in Kaman. I think the roster would make the play offs. Lowry/Dragic Lee/William Beasley/Parson/Morris Patterson/Hill/Morris Dalembert/Kaman
Right. He occasionally gets some spot minutes at the 4. Like under 10% of his time. Meaning, if he plays 30 minutes a game, he might log 3 minutes at PF, at most. These could be end of quarter line-ups used for offensive mismatch purposes for all I know. Turkoglu is a SF, and would clearly play that role on the Lakers.
I don't think the Hornets want Scola. Johnson sucks. That said, they aren't going to get much for Kaman. But I don't think they want to take back Scola's contract. They're better off maybe letting Kaman just expire.
I remember reading that Demps has interest in Scola, and with Scola and landry on the same team the reunion of scolandry would be pretty awesome.
oh yeah i agree... fool can flat out Ball... him and his brother carl used to make me look like a child on the court... and he was head and shoulders always best player on court... i agree he needs to get more game time... i believe he will be a good player in the league... what i meant by not being worth much was in terms of 'trading value'...
i still see it as over paying by alot... morey wants cap space for this years FAs, not contracts... plus at the begining of year Gasol's value was worth more then it is now... not to mention were winning so in turn our players are worth more(except scola)... im glad you werent affended and i feel ya on gettin a response... alot of times i really want an opinion on a trade i dreampt up, yet i get no response... i agree that no-one wants booz... and i would LOVE to send martin for noah...
Has the value of Martin, scola, hill gone up or fallen as well? Morey wants stars. If he can get one that's under contract already he'd do so. He's been hedging - trying to get a star now and if not try in FA. We recently lost to the bucks and wolves...thats not winning. We would still have a decent amount of cap space if we did this deal I believe.
A short term upgrade? Why do you think so? Diaw has been always a decent player for several years, not limited to this year. I'm not going to say "Diaw is greater than Scola". But between Scola+Bud and Patterson+Diaw, I would take the latter. It's clear that Patterson can defend the post very well than Scola and Diaw is a good player than Bud on both offensive and defensive end. Only Scola's post offense and Bud's explosiveness are what we will miss. I understand how moving Scola is a difficult problem though. Your point is reasonable. But I think not much time are left for us to wait and see what Patterson's sailing will be, or should we wait til Scola's contract year and get good return from him despite that we have to give up to give good minutes to the youth like Patterson, Hill(I dont know if he remains), and Donuts(also I dont know when he comes over)? Again, I understand what you are saying. Moving Scola is not a easy challenge. But this is one of the way to build a competitive team.
Rockets: Howard, Dwill, Turkoglu Nets: Scola, Lowry Magic: Patterson, Martin, Twill, Hill, Flynn, Thabeet
