Did any of you pick up on McHale at the presser talking about asking Patterson to step down and defend the 3??

I didn't really feel like Beasley got the better of Parsons so much as Lee and Chase. He's just too big for them to defend and too saavy with the midrange post up game.

Don't know if Patterson is the answer to that question either. But thought it was interesting that McHale is talking about it.

I feel like Marcus Morris would have been useful there.

Are you sure McHale wasn't talking about Patterson coming down as the non-existent 4 help defense on the 3.

Adelman tried the same move last year-- had Patterson defend Lebron James. Lebron beat him off the dribble and dunked on him once but Pat was generally OK considering the circumstances.. Worth trying in specific matchups.

I'm wondering WHAT IN THE HELL DID MARCUS MORRIS DO to be totally removed from consideration for playing for this team? It's not like we have ELITE play at the 3. The guy needs a chance. Patterson at the 3? Forget it, hell hasn't played the 4 that well.

    offtopic a bit but still

Patterson has absolutely no post moves and it's so blatantly obvious that it hurts my eyes when he tries to perform some of them. Everytime he gets in a post up situation he's just too anxious to bust a move, it's really noticeable in game

I agree he has the size and foot speed to match up well with Beasley. But I think he's still in the process of learing the position which will take some time. No need to rush him now, just because we were beat to a pulp by the ultimate pot head.

Carl Landry was experimented with a little bit as a 3 when with the Rockets. PPatt and Landry are similar type players. It may work only when used situationally.

Easy, he got drafted to a team where Morey is the GM, and he's gonna be SOOOO Badass that Morey is trying to stash him as long as possible so that no one asks that he be included in any trades...real genius moves!
