Normally, I agree with you MM. But in this case, I think it's imperative that we have a more than competent backup for Schaub.(considering the injury history and our window being open) I don't want to go to war with just Yates and Matt2. Realistically, how many guys out there fit the description of what we need....To my way of thinking...not many....You know how much I despise UT, but in this case, I'd have to hold my nose and roll with it. Everyone knows Mario was the right pick at the time now. This is a different deal. Bring it on ...

So why would you want someone who is worse than Yates? What sense does that make? Yates Career Passer Rating: 80.7 Young Career Passer Rating: 74.4
I was really with him when he was talking about coming home, playing for Houston and I was all like "Yeahhhh" Then he said he should be starting somewhere and I was all like "Nawww"
Vince's ups and downs have been well chronicled. If his head is on straight, I think this is a situation where he could thrive. With our offensive line and the weapons at his disposal (I'm assuming we address WR2 in a big way), this could work well as he can make the throws (Andre make many a QB look better) and perhaps just as importantly can capitalize on all those times when it's time to tuck it and rumble...potentially almost indefensible at times.
Sorry he can't start here. Leslie already got rid of the Houston Thunderbears. He can try the Stallions.
I think it's more just bad luck than being injury prone. His first 2 injuries that cost him time were from cheap shots/late hits from Jared Allen and Drayton Florence. And the way Haynesworth was talking afterwards, this one might've been a cheap shot too. He'd made 46 consecutive starts before the foot injury.
In before me....I don't get all the talk of him being injured all the time. I hear it on the radio as well. I don't think people every really pay attention or look at game stats. They just automatically assume.

Yea but that team no longer has ties to Houston and was not representing Houston when he played for them. I'd say it was completely different. He played for a team in Tenn that use to be the Oilers. That's it. I'm sure there was no emotionally connection like playing for the actual home team.
He's just looking to jump ship after the "Dream Team" massively fell on its face. He saw the Texans doing well and just wants to get on the bandwagon. He's playing the "hometown" card to try to weasel his way into Houston. No way we let him in.
No, thank you. Vince's athleticism and what's left of his UT days aren't what the TEXANS need. I had a bit of trouble understanding the following: "You with a little more experience" OK, I'm agreeing with that "... and who's played in some bigger games than he has" WTF? What "bigger" games? Playoff Games Yates 2 Young 1 Playoff Game Wins Yates 1 Young 0 Was replaced as a starter and his team went 13-3 without him that playoff year... What "BIGGER" games are they talking about? Being named 4th string to the Pro Bowl? Did I miss something?
For the SEASON opener, I think the odds are pretty good that he'll be ready to play. Training camp however is a different story.
