Peyton doesnt play defense, and last year they were lucky to get 10-6.
so I dont know how different it would be if Peyton played this season.

and I think if they start Orlovsky since the beginning they would have won 1 or 2 more games. and if they had Cassel they would have won 2 or 3 more games.

I think the embarrassment factor is going to play heavily in this. Belicheck may be a jerk, and somewhat of a cheat, but he's a winning coach, and he hates losing more than he enjoys winning. Let me tell you, he has never gotten over that Super Bowl loss. I think Brady's the same way- they were perfect in Super Bowl appearances, then in the one year they were a near-lock, they let it slip away. I don't think Brady's ever gotten over it, either.

Two people do not a championship make, but I have this gut feeling that the Patriots are gonna win. I only had this gut feeling about Tampa Bay vs. Oakland before. I'll eat a huge plate of crow if I'm wrong- but I won't be. It's going to be New England.

Eli Manning is better than Philip Rivers. Tom Brady is better than Eli Manning. But the Pats D is crap. Going to be a great game. Hard game to call. I'd have to give it to the Giants with a field goal late in the game. 27-24 giants. Manning MVP.

eli and Tom have more superbowl victories than Rivers and Peyton respectively. That doesn't mean that they are necessarily "better". That's something that far too many people tend to confuse.

Wait a second....These two teams played in the regular season and the Giants won? How does New England deserve a rematch then?? ;)

    (sound familiar)

    Patriots get their revenge.

If you had to start the season with a QB, most would choose Brady over Eli Manning. But next Sunday, it's 50/50 who is better.

I can't believe I'm taking the bait from the thread troll, Bear Bryant, but these two teams earned their rematch. I'm not arguing that Bama wasn't the 2nd best team in the country after the regular season either...just saying that the BCS system sucks.

One game playoff. LSU lost. Get over it. If they met in the first round of a 8 team playoff LSU would have still lost.

Get over it? We weren't the ones who brought it up. And I've gotten over it by deciding to rank college football where it deserves when it comes to sports I will take seriously, which is below 95% of all other sports whose winners aren't decided in large part by computers and the biases of coaches.

This only proves that the playoffs don't matter.

The NFL needs a system similar to the BCS.

The BCS is terrible for many reasons. LSU losing isn't one of them.

I'm thinking I probably won't watch. Don't care about either team and this feels like a repeat of the one four years ago...which was more interesting because the Pats were unbeaten and noone thought the Giants would beat them. And, Madonna and her halftime show. Yuck. First time I can remember that I really don't care about the super bowl and, while both teams deserve to be there and either can take the trophy home, it just feels like a re-run of an old TV show one has already seen. Would have rather seen any combination that is different personally. This must be really interesting up in the northeast, though.
