Can girls and guys be friends?

I don't see why girls and guys can't be friends, provided that, if you are attracted to the person, you don't necessarily do anything about it, nor expect to. And if you're not attracted to them in that sense... seems like you could make friends with them just as you do with a member of your own sex. Depends who you are, though; many men apparently find women annoying and just put up with them to get to the one thing. At least according to this board.

 

It's up to the guy.

 

The things written on this board by us males must look terrible to you sometimes. But I just don't think a single man can just be friends with a female he finds attractive. At one moment he will want more and not be happy with the friendship. Women don't understand this it seems, but that's how our brains work.

 

I think we did just have this thread. And probably many more with the exact same title, verbatim.

But again, this is from the male's point of view. Yes, it must seem shallow to you and other women, but it's the truth. Women and men were made differently. Same reason why men NEED to pull one out at least several times a week (maybe a day for some), while women do it for recreational purposes, only when they want to.

I have had platonic female friends the vast majority of my life, both before and after marriage.

if you're subjected to hanging out with someone platonically and have no other options at that particular moment, then problems start.
