It's a completely different story with him and Brooks.

And are you pushing for him to be on the bench? Really?

Gosh, I don't know... perhaps because they are totally different players, only having in common playing the same position?

Same argument though, clearly Kyle is carrying the team, and especially the first unit, without him Kmart would not be as successful, Scola, Parsons and Dally, they need him to set up everything.

Same with Brooks and the unit that had Ariza, Hayes and Battier, though in that lineup his role was to score the ball, whereas Kyle's role in this one is to distribute the ball.

Either way, at the end of the day, the team goes as they went....up or down based upon their performance.

The only reason I bring that up is that I tried to explain that, but got no understanding of it, now, it is relevent again......just in a slightly different manner.

Come on, flaming, you know I am not....I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of the old argument.

What I want is for Kyle to start playing with his swagger again, and start shooting those open looks, when he is open, he needs to step in and let it fly.

He is by far the heart of this team, without him, we would be deep deep lottery bound.

Let's be clear on Lowry's full-season FGP. Under .400 is not an automatic failing grade if you shoot as many threes as Kyle does. If you factor in his range shooting (that is, if you look at his effective field goal percentage), here are the guys that are worse and/or less efficient purely as shooters than Lowry this year (disregarding their frequency of getting to the line).

Carmelo Anthony; Danny Granger; Amare Stoudemire; Tyreke Evans; Monta Ellis; John Wall; Eric Gordon; Chauncey Billups; Jamal Crawford; Demarcus Cousins; Rodney Stuckey.

Furthermore, Dwyane Wade and Deron Williams are equivalent shooters.

And of ALL these guys listed, Wade and Lowry are far above all the rest in overall production once you factor in defense, rebounding, and assists.

Now, if Lowry keeps up the pace of his last few games there's huge cause for concern, I won't deny that.

The team has always gone as Lowry goes, even in Brooks' MIP year. Facts are facts.

You know I doubt that, and I'm sure a lot of other posters do too.

You posted earlier that Lowry should go back to the bench to be the glue guy if he didn't "improve his shot afterall". There has been sufficient evidence on this board that Lowry has been the heart of this team even when Brooks was here.

We all know Lowry is struggling with his shot, but a lot of us also know Lowry has so much more to offer than just scorer. In fact, that was the premise when Lowry took off, that even if he stops scoring he would still help this team in more ways than one. Durv's post supports this.

To an extent, I agree. However, Brooks had more help as far as others or the offense system generating good looks for him. He played off-the-ball more. In general, more of Brooks' makes were assisted too (you can look it up at hoopdata.com). Actually, one of the more effective lineups during Brooks' MIP season had Brooks playing as an off-guard and Lowry as a facilitator. See, for example, my post from that season on Rockets assists. Through mid-Feb of that season, when they shared the court Lowry assisted to Brooks over twice as often as Brooks assisted to Lowry.

Agreed it was a highly effective lineup, Lowry is a very good distributor of the ball, but now that he is being asked to score the ball more too, it seems to be wearing him out.

Unfortunately, Kyle hasn't helped his case with the last few games. He seems tired.

All DD threads devolve into a defense of his AB hero worship.

Well, I told you what I think so now you want to argue with me about what you believe I think, really?

Is it worth our time for me to answer your posts and then have you go "yeah, I call BS"...

LOL - what a waste, if you are going to do that, please don't bother asking if you really don't want to know, or just want to argue.

As of right now Kyle does not deserve to be an all star, he is just not playing well enough, and has not consistently done that this year.

Personally, that is better for the team as he gets to rest during that break.
