That's fine, you're not the only one who has been disappointed in Kyle's performance the last few games. But I see you in almost every thread taking every opportunity to take jabs at Lowry. It gets annoying, it gets ridiculous. The biggest problem is that Kyle IS a hard worker, but Chase has proven himself not to be one. Thus myself and posters don't hate Chase, we hate his attitude, his lack of passion, fire and consistency. Chase doesn't work hard, because if he did he wouldn't be glued to the bench. That is why posters are praising McHale, because McHale isn't afraid to bench players that he feels are not performing to their standards. McHale is making it clear that Bud will have to earn playing time, not be given it. And that is probably why Bud has been playing well the last couple of games.
Yep, that is true, maybe this woke him up, maybe he got better because he is more of a focus on offense without Kmart in there hogging the shots. Lots of maybes....either way, I think we can all agree it is nice to have Chase performing so well, this team needs his scoring, especially without Kmart playing. DD
But he hasn't earned consistent minutes, and never will in all likelihood. As you said, he is what he is, and what he is is a fringe rotation player.
Comparing Bud to Lowry makes Bud look A LOT worse. I mean look at how Lowry has improved by leaps and bounds while Bud is basically treading water, seemingly earning just enough to get into the exclusive clubs on Washington Ave. If Bud can make the leap to borderline All-Star small forward, then I think we would all be much higher on him, obviously.
I don't think McHale benching him has as much effect as him getting more opportunity with Kmart out......both are factors but IMO, he just was the 4th or 5th option on the floor and now is in the top 2 or 3...and that makes a bigger difference IMO. DD
You are right... .We would be playing much better with Patrick, Jordan, Luis and Parsons, especially the bigs playing well, because McHale's so called system favors bigs! Chase gives us a boost no doubt, but the bigs are the key to success as you can see Samuel with his efficient production.
We have only 2 bigs right now, Scola and Dally, the rest are jump shooters....and not playing all that big. Big dissapointment in PPat....just doesn't look like a big at all, looks like a midrange shooting tweener. DD
Yeah, what's the deal with Patterson? He seems to have gotten a lot softer overall this year and has not improved a bit...if anything, he's gotten worse. All he seems to have on offense is a pick and pop game.
Patterson was not able to train during the offseason because of his surgery. And, of course, no training with the Rockets during the summer either because of the lockout. Plus no training camp. And very little practice time. There are a lot of reasons why he hasn't developed like we would have liked from last year to this year. I think the Rockets are hopeful he'll get back to and exceed where he was last year before the end of this year.
I thought Morey had him 6th on the talent overall board... that draft. He should at least recover from injury and be better than Jonny Flynn.
Agreed But I don't think you can categorize Superstar- star- role player More like Star players first, second, third tier...... than good to borderline star..... up and coming players specialists .... and then your normal role players...... scrubs at the bottom
I think of Patterson as a specialist. Specialties being the spot-up jump shot and some solid D. I don't really see a lot of "up and coming" in him, unfortunately.
I agree I don't see him being an allstar at this point.... but as people have said... he had no preparation into this shortened season so I will give him one or two more years to prove himself.
He is only getting a few minutes and coming off his rookie season. Obviously he has more potential than just that if he had a opportunity to get Scola type minutes. Who is a very good veteran to be stuck behind. Tough to earn minutes against.
I think Morey is smarter than that too...... I don't see him having Patrick rot on the bench for good. I think Patrick is going to be a future corner piece of this franchise whether he is an uber specialist.... Horry Lite...... or a borderline allstar.
