Team has been playing a cupcake schedule, I would wait until they beat playoff teams in order to to actually stay #4.
i was asking this in the game thread, but espn shows us at 6th while nba.com and yahoo show 4th, atop the division via three way tie with DAL and SAS. we have the advantage over the Spurs right now with a huge road game coming up that could clinch a potential tiebreaker, but how does DAL fall into the three way tie with us not having faced them yet, and them with better conference and division record than us?
i agree, but what about san antonio?? and even "playoff" teams have been losing to these "cupcake" teams. in this compressed schedule winning 7 out of the 8 last games we've played is very impressive..regardless of who we've played. especially when you see teams like the lakers mavs and celtics struggling
I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but we were 9th yesterday and could be again in a loss or two. The current standings do not matter so much but yeah it is important not to get too far behind.
I don't think we will finish #4 but this is not really true our overall Strength of Schedule has been pretty close to dead average. Look: Orlando 12-7 San Antonio 12-8 Memphis 10-9 Atlanta 14-6 LA Lakers 11-9 LA Clippers 10-6 OKC Thunder 16-3 OKC Thunder 16-3 Charlotte 3-18 San Antonio 12-8 Sacramento 6-14 Portland 12-8 Washington 4-16 Detroit 4-17 New Orleans 4-15 San Antonio 12-8 Minnesota 9-10 Milwaukee 8-11 Washington 4-16 New York 7-13 Totalling all the wins and losses results in a record of 186-209. So we can probably expect a little regression as the year goes on, but we can also say that yes, it is looking pretty good for us to make the playoffs this year.
They will come back down to earth and miss the postseason (I hope). They really are not that good imo.
