My only concern with Hill, is that he hasn't developed into a sturdy enough defensive player quick enough. I've given up hope Luis or anyone can help him get an offensive game but he is going to need to rebound the heck out there if he wants to make a living in the NBA.

It's been said a million times, but he needs to keep up this level of play to get regular minutes.

Oh, and limit the mental mistakes and breakdowns too.

It is all about matchups fellas, when he doesn't have to guard huge centers he is effective.

People on here just freak out and make wild ass assumptions without any grasp of what is happening on the floor.

I know you are entitled to your own opinion but I think that you have one of the worst basketball IQs for being such an avid fan.
You, sir, are equivalent to JHill/Twil/Dorsey in terms of understanding the game.

I just see things way before the average fan does, and folks freak out and yell and scream and stomp their feet like babies, but as an adult, I know the truth, that they are neophytes and don't have a clue about a back door cut, or a pin down curl, or how to properly defend a pick and roll.

So, I just watch them pick at my arguments and have their little victories, knowing that ultimately, I will win the war.

He has a bad habit of giving up 3pt plays the old-fashioned way.

What does winning the war mean in this case -- Jordan Hill will develop into a good NBA player?

Jordan has some nice tools. He'll have a decent game every now and then. But he also has bad hands, bad all-around court awareness (both ends of the floor), and his concentration comes and goes. He'll never have the ball skills to be a good PF, and he doesn't have the size or strength to be an effective C. For these reasons (and I hate to put a cap on what a player can eventually become) I don't see him ever developing into a good NBA player. I hope I'm wrong, and he proves otherwise this season.

It means in the right situation he can be an effective role player.

Nothing more than that....a Mikka Moore type...which I have said.....all along.

I keep repeating myself, but young players need consistent minutes. They need to make mistakes and learn to adjust thru repitition. Hill, patterson, and the other young guys on the team. Hill isn't a center, but he's the backup center on the rox. The rox have a lot of out of position guys.

    Mikki Moore?
    That's your great hope???

    This "type" has career averages of 5.8pts 3.9rbs 0.5bls 0.7ast 0.3stls...
even his best season was something like 9/5/0.8/0.6

that is not an effective role player. it's the 9-11th man on the bench type productivity.

I think you're right, but if Mikki Moore is his upside then there's really no point investing any effort into developing him and losing more games in the process. Players like that are easy to find/acquire.
