Let's just move the draft up to early March, start training camp in early May, and start the season on June 1st. Get er done!
I know it's a joke, but it's an interesting idea. Instead of having a season that starts the same time frame each year, how about an offseason that is the same timeframe? if the NFL had a 5 month offseason (from the date of the Superbowl), then the next games would be starting right after July 4th... great! that season would then end in early December 2012. Then the next season would start in May 2013.... and that season would end in October, 2013. Then the next season would start in March 2014 and end in August 2014, etc, etc. that'd be great! 5 months is plenty of time off. For teams that don't make the playoffs it's an extra month anyway. everybody makes more money, too. not going to happen, but would be cool!
I know, right? I do not care about this SB at all. And then its gonna be all Peyton Manning talk until the season starts again. Ugh. Time machine, please.
it should be like soccer, players really only get about 3 weeks of rest and then they are back playing exhibition matches.
It still shows up on my pc. I think the nfl should just give the illusion of a longer season. Add three more bye weeks move the start of the season back to labor day and end it some where before march madness. training camp starts three weeks early. I miss football season already.
Can't wait for all the national TV games. I'm hoping to definitely see some SNF games. NBC must've loved us after we pounded Cincy on their network.
I'm still not over the loss and need a break from the NFL. It's gonna take some time before I want to think about next season. You know how it is when someone is trying to cheer you up about something heartbreaking but you don't want to move on yet.
My wife is more excited about the upcoming superbowl right now . . The excitement is not there for me & I know exactly why - we came close. with Schaub healthy, no doubt we had a real shot to be in this thing..it stings
I'm with the people wanting this off-season to hurry up, and it's awesome and exciting that our own Texans players feel the exact same way. Usually players are looking forward to their vacations, but I think the team really senses that they are incredibly close to doing something special here, and they want to get this thing going. The only reason why I'm glad we have so long to wait is that Matt Schaub is going to need every bit of that time to come back healthy.
