What's wrong with Melo? This blows cause my little brother loves him and I was planning on taking him to the game this weekend for his b-day. Bummer. But.... YAY! For us, better chance to win, bet Amare goes off tho.
[rquoter]Carmelo taking next two games off to rest his injuries, D'Antoni says. Could return tues[/rquoter]

If the Knicks lose the game against the Rockets, they will tie the Nets for the 7th worst record in the league. No 'Melo.
I really think this pick could end in the lotto. They are just an injury away from being terrible. I don't think Bdiddy is gonna be there savior. I hope we make the playoffs and the NY pick still sets us around 10 or 11. (Trying to be hopeful and realistic) although I realize they probably will still make the playoffs.
The Knicks will have to have one of the 2 worst records to have a 100% chance of drafting in the top 5. They will have to have one of the 3 worst records to have at least a 96% chance of being in the top 5. If they have the 4th worst record, they have a 82.8% chance of being in the top 5. If the 5th worst, they have a 55.2% chance of being in the top 5. If 6th worst, the chance drops to 21.5%. If 7th, it drops to 15.1%, and it gets lower and lower from there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Draft_Lottery Realistically, they really have to have one of the 4 worst records in the league to feel pretty safe (82%) about keeping the pick, and I doubt they can really out-tank some of the truely horrible teams (CHA, WAS, Detroit, SAC, Toronto, New Orleans(NO is not that horrible, but being in the West, they'll play a significantly tougher schedule)).
