    Kevin Martin out for Rockets

HOUSTON -- Rockets leading scorer Kevin Martin is inactive for Friday night's game against Washington with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

The 6-foot-7 guard is averaging 20.1 points. He'll sit out for the first time this season.

Courtney Lee will start in Martin's place. Martin and Luis Scola are the only Rockets who've started every game so far this year.

Martin had scored at least 20 points in four consecutive games, including 29 in Wednesday's loss to Milwaukee. Martin was shooting 48 percent (44 of 91) from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range (16 of 40) during that span.

I wish. We'll probably see 30 minutes of Dragic's no look passes to the other team.

Ouch this will hurt our playoff chances. Anyone know how long this typically takes to recover?

I found this article, but obviously, it Martin isn't going to sit out for (1 to 4 years).

....and I hope he plays well enough to earn a regular spot in the rotation.

More minutes for Parsons and Lee.

Maybe even 5 minutes for Squid if he has been impressing McHale

Plantar's nothing to fool around with. If you try and play through it, you'll be done for a very long time.

[rquoter]“Some guys haven’t played much, but they’re going to get a chance now. You got to just go play. You practice hard, and they have. Everybody wants to play. Everybody in an NBA locker room can play. You can’t play them all.

“As I said, the rotation is going to get tighter as the season goes on and we have a pretty tight rotation now."[/rquoter]

It depends on how bad... this is an injury that can awlays come back and preventing pain is basically the only way ot deal with it,
    - i just had it and am fully recovered after like 6 months... (started geting legit treatment in the last two months)
    - nba athletes have a lot better recovery time and i think joakim noah was out 3 weeks, and granger also out for less
-imo, he should rest it as much as possible, coming back when the inflammation has not really stopped can just prolong healing time

I'm not responding to this post in particular, but rather your tendency to post snarky, idiotic comments. Why don't you go back to bobbling punts and just sucking in general?

The wizards are terrible so its hard to really ever take a game with them seriously.

But I've said all along Martin gives up almost as much as he adds, we'll barely notice him being gone. C-lee and bud aren't a huge drop off.

Offense won't be as good, but defense will be better.

They are pretty deep to have still stomped two teams in a row without Martin.

McHale said that Martin is a go for tonight's game.

Beasley, Webster and Wes Johnson are playing, too, versus last game. So, Minny will have more depth this time.
