Would you trade Scola, Dragic and NYK's 1st rounder for Amar'e Stoudemire?

I'd do it, but they can keep their scrubs and we keep the draft pick. Throw in TWill. He can ride the bench behind Melo

Didn't Amare diss Houston? I think he made some comments after signing with the Knicks to the effect that he did not want to be in Houston.

Deron Williams! Dwight Howard! Amare Stoudimire! Theres always "talks" with the rockets on these kind of trades, but they never happen...I don't believe anything anymore until it actually happens.

Talks...speculation. This is nothing more than random speculation - you or I going to the random trade thread and proposing it.

I don't particularly love the deal, but any competent GM takes it everytime...

True, people concentrate too much on PPG. He was the Knicks no.1 guy and only guy. Of course he was going to put up big raw numbers. He wasn't successful without Nash as some people believe.

Homeboy is averaging 18pts and 8 rebs a game. only half a block a game. doesn't seem like he's playing much defense. These are close to career low numbers for Amare ...and he's almost 30. He's not the superstar he was 2 years ago. And he doesn't want to be here.

I would have to say no.

A competent GM takes 80+mil uninsured everytime? BTW - - does a competent owner sign off on the deal everytime?

Why was it that Jimmy D signed off on it? Or PERSONALLY traded everything (or so it seemed) for Melo? Answer: look into your cable profits not your standings.

Does Stoudemire + Martin + Lowry put you in Finals contention? Because this trade means spending all our bullets. We'd have no 2012 lotto picks and no giant cap space. We will only be able to make incremental improvements after this trade, so this better be enough to contend. I don't think it is.

Keep the pick though...that would be the insurance for Amare's knees.

Then use him in a trade for Dwight...sweet.

But the reality is his contract is huge, his knees give me shivers and he is not Dwight...just saying.

It is tempting though...fools gold, past his prime?

I voted Yes on the poll before, but now I'm having second thoughts. I'm not thrilled about paying max dollars to a player who only plays one side of the floor.

There's 2 superstars and 1 permanently damaged schmuck in your list there.

Amare is not a difference maker here - I might trade Scola + Martin + Dragic for him + Fields - but would definitely NOT include Lowry in any deal, and would definitely NOT give them back their pick.

    Assets and upgrades...

With Amare, the Rockets could legitmately make a play for Dwight Howard. You could take a long look at a Lowry/Deron swap too, after you landed Amare for Goran and Scola...

    It is a no brainer...

You don't trade for Amare direct if you are going to send him to Orlando. You trade for Dwight in a 3-way deal sending Amare to Orlando.
