I'm never surprised by this anymore.

Frankly, I would guess most of the student outrage is adult-sponsored.

Agreed, though I would likely include the 16 year old in this. I reserve the right to be wrong.

And the bigotry and assault on Christianity continues under the guise of the constitution. You lefties need to read some of Mark Levin's books, he'll set you straight about the constitution.

    Evidently.
So 99.9 % of the school ok with it
    Maybe even want it.
    But
The will of one girl tops all their wishes?

Why does that not work with Darwin?

The will of the extremely minority trumps everything?

Her rights should be protected. The only thing I was pointing out is that someone disagrees with the girl and calls her evil.

Two people can disagree and neither of them has to be evil

agreed FB. "Heathen" might have been fair game...but Evil's just not right.

And good on the kid. I may think it's a frivolous kind of thing...but she took it up on principle and followed through. I'm impressed.

From the article it says that others had complained about the prayer.

Are you dense? The will of the girl? It's called separation of church and state.

What does Darwin have to do with this?

Actually I think I know but I would like to hear you articulate why you mentioned Darwin in this post.

if you're a Christian, why in the world would you want Jesus IMPOSED on anyone through government and public institutions? the last thing in the world i would want is for someone to feel intimidated or beat up upon by the Cross. i've talked to Muslims who saw the Cross as a symbol of intimidation in Bosnia for years....that crap sucks.

if God really is the God we claim Him to be, there is no such thing as kicking Him out of a school.

besides, when you say "put God back in school," it sounds like He never got His GED or something.

    Yeah ...
If this was in someone's home or a church, that would be none of little Jessica's business.
The key here is that it is hung in a public school. My guess is it would not have been a big deal if there hadn't been prejudice or bias against non-religious folks in this country in the past. She made a point that the banner made her feel the school is telling her that she doesn't belong. I think she is being truthful about that feeling and that's the problem.

Well, I am just saying that would end all the debate we are having with pledge of allegiance. The phrase "One nation under God" was added to the original pledge. Likewise we could just change it. One nation under Canada is pretty darn accurate except for Alaska.
