K-Mart dropped 29 w/o getting to the FT line once... only the 5th time in the past 5 years that he hasn't attempted at least 1 FT in a game.
Lowry, Dragic, and Lee just couldn't make anything, that was the game really. Strange game of big runs by both teams.
He is under 40% for the season and dropping fast, he is really tired you can see he has no legs out there. DD
The Rockets hav two many flaws, making the playoffs would be a curse rather than a blessing We need to those draft picks, plus you can say we have 2 more draft picks coming next year with D-Mo, and Sergio Llul
Trade for Randolph and Sign Greg Smith from the D-league. We need a deeper lineup. Lowry's logged a ton of minutes this season and the shortened schedule doesn't make it any easier.
Budinger must really really be in the doghouse he could have been in there a little bit with Dragic at the point and lee at SG to give Lowry more rest. This is going to happen with all of the teams. I would rather them be tired and sit out then go in there and end up getting hurt.
I suspect McHale will tinker with the rotations in the next game to try to get Lowry more rest. I wouldn't be surprised to see Budinger out there. I hope he's stayed ready and he can prove that he needs to be a regular player.
What a huge disappointment this game was. It started badly and it ended badly. I swear I thought we were playing a Bucks team that was 13-4 or something. Then, I go look at their record (6 - 10) and I'm flabbergasted at how hard this game was for the Rockets to prevail in. Before their big guy went down, it looked even more lopsided in their favor. I guess we just don't match up well with them or something.
Hard to match up with a team that goes 14-29 from 3. It was a bad game, an ugly game, but a game that the Rockets (and us as fans) needed. Winning cures everything, but it also covers up a lot of flaws that get overlooked.
I don't think cbud has the same type of affect on the game like those two do. He has a good 3pt percentage because most of the time hes camping the 3pt line. I don't see the same type of hustle or "fire" that ppat and lee play with. Until he shows that, he'll remain on the bench.
Find it funny the reaction in here. Before the game McHale was this genius that plays guys based on production, now he is the guy that play guys to the ground because he has no trust in no one outside of 8 guys. You know the reason why our bench is as weak as it gets? No it is not because players suck, it´s because we have no 2nd unit, we have 3 guys that come off the bench. We have guys like Lowry dieing on the floor because for some reason, Flynn Bud or Twill are not good enough to play 5mins. RA rotations>>>> McHale, why??? Because we had a 2nd unit, we had a unit coming off the bench with define roles, guys playing with each other instead of coming for 2mins just so that KM and Lowry rest. Hill, Pat, T will (running the point on the half court offense) Lee and Dragic, you tell me if this 2nd unit can´t be decent, we just need decent production. Keep playing guys 35mins, and you will see a 3pt friendly team be a Live and die by the 3 like we were yesterday. I said it before and I say it again, considering that I am not even a fan of TWill it makes 0 sense to have the guy that can get to the rim better then anyone we have playing 0 minutes when all you do is shoot 3s This loss serves well to the "fans" that were calling a easy win before the game.
Agreed, and this season is compressed with more games in a shorter time span, the rotation should be expanded some. DD
The good sign is the refs singling out of Kevin Martin is not effecting his game at all. Now he is just scoring more in a more efficient way by shooting better shots. That guy may need to be kept. Pure shooters like him are very good to have next to a star type player. He would be considered a star if he was playing next to Dwight Howard because they would be in the finals on the same team probably.
He's played poorly this year. He won't be much help, IMO, unless he comes in and plays better. Its worth a try, though, to see if he can do so. The starters need the rest.
I agree that it is a good sign and I'm off the trade Kevin wagon (unless the unthinkable comes along). He's gotten over the trade that never happened and it seems like he's adjusted to the new rules. Overall I say keep. He was the only chucker last night that I felt like - go ahead - take the jumper.
Anytime McHale has put a full second unit on the floor...the Rockets have lost leads..and games. The guys had a day rest before and after this game. McHale didn't adjust as well to how they were playing as I have seen him do before. But then again, why let your winning streak get snapped because you put players on the floor who are not NBA caliber. He gave his guys a chance to keep the win streak going...they didn't pull through.
