Quit down playing our city and sports franchise. Thats the first problem. We have as much history and glamour as any other top 5 cities in this league with exception to maybe two or three other teams in this entire league.

He got more guaranteed money to play in Denver where his wife is from, and he has an established role and relatinship with his coach.

Anyway - I feel bad.....but don't understand why it is that important.

People using Cuban as an example of how to build a team aren't tellin both sides ... Yes Cuban will do whatever it takes to win... But NOONE saw that championship run coming.. People across the league thought extending and signing Kidd, Marion, Terry, and Haywood was a sure sign that Cuban should be hands off, and get someone to handle personel decisions...He was stubborn and it was just one of those rare examples where stupidity FINALLY paid off....

I actually agree. Now it’s going to be all DD’s fault that he pissed off the best poster on the site and deprived us of one of his awesome articles. But I really don’t know what DD said that was so offensive in this case.

The reason I side with DD on the Nene thing is that some of the things posters were saying that made Houston the better location for him were proven false. It was said that he wouldn’t want to remain in a “rebuilding” situation in Denver…well Denver is the #2 team in the west and I’m sure Nene knew all along that Coach Karl and the talent around him were pretty good. It was also said that he’d love to play for a legendary big man like McHale when it was actually uncovered that he had his reservations about McHale and loves Coach Karl. The insider poster also said that Denver was #1 on his list of choices. So if Denver was willing to cough up the money Houston was, then it would be a no-brainer for him to stay on the team he preferred all along.

Hope Bima can accept DD’s apology and reconsider preparing his article. Don’t think DD was trying to be an ass in this situation.

Doesnt mean you are right. you can only make that point but not know if he intended to sign with the Rockets who he might have viewed as a better team and situation.

Its not ticked off. Its just that DD is passing it off as truth. It is not certain Nene would have chosen the Nuggets as truth had the deal went through. It is his opinion.

I understand that Les hasnt spent well into Lux tax over the past decade and Cuban has. I have always agreed with you there. He doesn't have the deepest pockets and has taken advantage of Yao financially... yada yada. I know.

My point is that in the past Cuban has been the exception not the rule, but even now Cuban and the money blowing Mavs have had to come down to earth to play by the same financial rules as everyone else.

What the Rockets have done from a contractual and salary cap standard was ahead of the curve in the NBA. You might not agree with it, but its exactly what every NBA franchise is currently and will be doing in due time.

However. I agree with what DD is trying to say for that time period for going for a championship. They did not do everything possible like the Mavricks did. For now Morey looks good in the cap situation but that Championship run period was years ago anyways. So in that case? DaDakota was right.

I don't think there's anything "b****made" about that. Obviously dude was frustrated because someone just posts random ingorance about what he assumes the Rockets could and couldn't pull off.

I mean here thinks would have more insider info out of the Rockets roster moves, Bima? or DaDakota?...

That's what happens when people end up talking (or in this case typing) out of their ass.

Yeah, I'm sure Nene knew Denver would explode out of the gates lol. They lost 2 of their rotation to China, Kenyon M and Wilson Chandler. If you take Nene out of the equation too I'm pretty sure they would have been lottery level, so one of the main reasons Denver plays well is because nene signed with them.

In retrospect I think the biggest fail in the DM organization was they got too hung up on the voided deal and didnt' explore possible options. I wouldn't have minded parting with the Scola/Kmart and 2012 knicks pick for sign and trade for Nene and maybe another piece(Gallo? or the rights to Wilson Chandlerlol).

    BimaThug;

Waiting for you new Rockets Salary Cap Update. Days ago, someone called the Sport radio 790 to say a thank for David Stern for blocking Paul Gasol trade because we got cheap Sam, and still have some money to use for next player, which is always my opinion. Do not know if your salary cap update would support this theory. For that trade, I like Nene to be here, but not Gasol, specially, Knicks pick is looking better each week right now, I am happy for current salary state of the team.

I’m talking about posters saying he would be stuck in a “rebuilding” situation if he stayed with Denver. I don’t think there was ever really a reason to believe Denver would be that bad.

Karl says he loves the new-look Nuggets and how they’re more coachable now. I’m sure getting knuckleheads like Martin and Smith off the team helped with that. Chandler was the main loss and he was only a backup in Denver.

So, the topic of this thread is the decision not to pick up the option on these players, which I think all of us, even DD, agree is the obvious thing to do. So, how did it become a discussion about how the team is cheap?

I think Flynn's worth more than that. I think he's the one guy that stands a chance to be a good player in this league. (Hill will be around for a while, but that just makes him an NBA player, not a good one.) But Flynn's still clearly behind Dragic and Lowry in the rotation, so it still make sense to let him go.

Frankly, I didn't follow Flynn much in Minnesota. Maybe he showed a lot more promise there.

As a Rocket, albeit in limited playing time, I think he's played very poorly.
