He didn’t even get ranked that high because of stats. Thorpe is actually watching the games and seeing how he impacts the game all around without even shooting well most of the time. Whereas he fell off the nba.com rookie ladder because supposedly he’s "struggling" now. Whoever wrote that really isn't watching games.

Yep, that's why I like Thorpe. The NBA.com writer clearly isn't watching Parsons' actual impact, whereas Thorpe does. Parsons' stats may not have wowed anyone last night, but his impact was huge despite the loss, much more than his numbers show.

I agree some of the past stats probably didn't wow anyone but last night he filled the stat sheet.

    16pts 7rebs 5ast 2stls 2blks

I think going overseas to play during the lockout was the best thing to happen to Parsons.

Hard worker, team player. That's why he gets the minutes from McHale.I hope he will get even better and will stay in Houston. With Morey as GM you never know...

Parson is a corner 3 from being a career MLE(a lot more money than he's making now) player.

We said the same thing about Budinger a few years ago, and now he can't even crack the rotation. Let's give the rookie some time before we start crowning him.

Thorpe mentions he has 4 TVs on in his office so that he can watch games in order to do his writing for ESPN.

Bottom line with Parsons (and I know it's based on a small body on NBA work) but this is a player that is a CRUCIAL piece of a winner . . . He plays all facets of the game, well - He has a great, natural feel for the game on both ends of the court. Plays great team D (as a rookie this can only get better) Passing is fantastic - Low turnover rate - gets moment changing steals and put backs . . .

His shooting is spotty right now - But I think it will improve and they will begin using him more in post up situations against smaller 3's

You have GOT to be excited about CP - Most exciting new player the Rockets have had in a long time - esp given the fact he was a 2nd round pick !!!!

But Chase was, is and will be weak on D.

He brings a lot more to the table then Bud did when we were all high on him. We knew Bud could score and dunk but everyone hated his D. Parsons brings all the hustle and D that we want in Bud. If we could merge Bud's Offense and Parsons D then it would be awesome.

Defense is something you can work and become really good at faster than Offense in my opinion. Bud just needs to put in the work and effort on the defense side of the ball and be more active.

CBud hasn't really improved since his rookie year. Everybody was hoping for Bud to improve on defense, but that hasn't happened. It makes Cbud sort of one dimensional player, and that's the reason he lost his spot. You gotta question his work ethic, wonder if he puts enough time and effort to make himself better. Getting paid too low might be a factor for his motivation here.

Parsons seems to have an all around game with energy except shooting. Him to CBud is like Lowry to Brooks at early stage. Lowry panned out, But I don't know if Parsons will work hard enough to get better despite 4 years of low salary.

Sometimes I feel a low contract with many years can back fire, especially to young players who hasn't established a true profesional habit yet. What's the point to work harder than anybody else, risk more work related injuries but make less money than everyone for 4 years?

Irving and Rubio are the going to be star but Parsons maybe the No 1 team player in this ranking. I'm will not be surprised if Parsons ended up with a better assist to TO ratio than Irvin and Rubio. He knows the game so well like veteran. I have no idea why he fell to 2nd round in the draft.

We never said squat about CBud's Defense !!!

CP on the other hand is showing Already - that he has the "potential" to develop into an elite Defender !!

Budinger was inconsistent and never showed effort on the defensive end. There is no comparison.

I hope Chandler Parsons will be invited to participate in NBA All Start Rookie-Sophomore Challenge. He deserves it. Do you think he will play in the challenge?

We did say the same thing about Budinger, but people like Thorpe did not. That's the big difference. It is one thing when homers say a young player is great, but when an outsider who spends all his time evaluating players says it, it carries a lot more weight.
