I was at the game tonight, sat a seat over and 2 rows back of Daryl Morey and his family over in section 119 behind the bench. His son was wearing a BUDINGER jersey?! But he spent most of the stretch of end of the 3rd quarter onto midway through the 4th quarter shaking his head in anger while feverishly typing in his Blackberry, as we let the Bucks bend us over and build a lead of 17 points. During one timeout towards that run, he threw his hands up with this WTF expression towards the bench. I think he was directing that towards T-Will and Flynn who were messing with Kelvin Sampson behind his back. The Toyota Center was wayyyy more filled than when I went to the Pistons game last week. At one point during the comeback it got pretty damn loud too. Mental errors and a lack of effort on defense really cost us this game. You have to know your opponent and their tendencies and with Jennings, Jackson, and Dunleavy, our guys were giving them way too much space to hoist up those 3's. Lee had a pretty horrendous shooting game as well. And was Parsons trying to do a Jordan impression when he for no reason changed hands over to his left in the middle of a layup attempt?! SMH
Coach can yank you out of the game when you are settling for too many 3s.....or playing poorly....and go to his bench. DD
The 3s they were taking were wide open for the most part, they just flat out missed them. The Rockets missed open 3s, the Bucks made open 3s. That was the story of this game, in addition to defensive breakdowns in the second half that led to those open 3s.
Yeah.... exactly.... hope the Rockets doesn't get fat.... and be kicked out off playoff contention like that girl
We got to start another streak now this team will not win 10 games in a row but we can get on little streaks with one loss here or there if we really hustle and play smart.
Would be a big win as Memphis and Mavs also lost. But on the flip side, its not a big lost because both of them lost. (Cheering myself up)
Who was he gonna put in? Flynn? Another 3 point shooter in Bud? The offensive powerhouse Jordan Hill? Were we gonna start dropping it down to Patrick Patterson and watch him go to work down low with his one post move? Well we tried that and he got neutralized pretty quickly since he doesn't have a post game. I was pleased at how great Martin looked tonight. I think these past 2 games may have been the most aggressive and demanding of the ball that I have ever seen of him. He seems to be making sure he is finishing his drives rather than trying to flop for free throws as well. His defense was tolerable as well. Anyhow, Lowry looked gassed and was off and we got beat. That is going to be the theme in pretty much every Rockets loss this year.
This... Klow and Clee weren't hitting when wide open, and it cost us the game. Martin can't be open every play.
They need to cut lowry's minutes big time. After a torrid start, his shooting has been going down bigtime. He can't beat my mama off the dribble and get to the rim. He looks tired, but will battle on.
That's like Shaq waiting for the hack-a-shaq without trying to score. You can't take what the defense gives you when they're giving it to you because you're not hitting. Their center was out. You take it to the rim or closer. A couple of times they were open, but open enough to take a few dribbles in and hit a 15 footer. Other times they weren't that open and could have pump faked and driven inside. All i know is that sequence wouldn't have happened if chuck or battier were here. Lowry should have said something. During that stretch the bucks weren't hitting their 3s either. It would have been a perfect time to play smarter.
What a weird game; Milwaukee starters accounted for only 39 points (and Jennings for half of those) while the Rockets starters doubled that output. Our bench limped in on this one while the Bucks' bench exploded.
Yeah, watching the game, I was thinking that Martin is looking about as good as I've seen him playing for the Rocks. The defense makes the difference. He's stepped up. And totally agree about Kyle. He's gased. McHale has to bite the bullet and sit him, and his backup needs take up the slack.
It was pretty inappropriate at the time because we were getting beat pretty bad and Johny Flynn reminds me of Kevin Hart. I will say this about those bench guys (T-Will, Flynn, Hasheem) from what I've seen being at a few games (sitting a few rows back from the bench) and paying closer attention to the bench atmosphere, is that they all seem to have pretty positive attitudes about their lack of playing time. They are very supportive cheerleaders for the guys that are out there playing, they all seem to have pretty good off the court chemistry, and no one acts like they are above their demotions and deserve better or appear to want out. The only guy that remains pretty emotionless throughout everything is Budinger, but he acts that way on the court.
