The real story isn't in Lowry's numbers on the court, but in looking at Lowry's contract compared with the other PGs' contracts. Remember back when people on this board were complaining about Morey playing hardball by letting the market set Lowry's salary off of his RFA status? Fast forward to now and Lowry is easily one of the highest value contracts in the NBA, locked in a great price for a few years. This is how a GM should be negotiating RFA contracts where the players haven't put up superstar numbers yet.

He's also 5th in the league in steals and his on-ball defense has been exceptional.

I think Lowry will never put up the guady numbers that Paul and Rose do but there is definitely an argument to be made that he is a top 5 point in the league. He is basically playing like a young Jason Kidd with a better shooting percentage.

Lowry > DWill this season too.

Personally, I'll take Lowry over Westbrick all day, everyday. He may have all the athleticism in the world, but Lowry is the far better passer, 3pt/ft shooter, and most importantly, team leader. Penetration I'll give the edge to RW, defense is about even. You put Lowry next to KD and KD would be averaging 35+ easily with Lowry well over 10+ asts (Westbrook is avging a paltry 5.6 and an A/TO ratio of 1.64).

Right on. Would rather have Lowry over anyone else in the league in the pg spot. Rockets better make the most of his contract before it's up. Max money for a point guard is not a winning recipe.

You are probably missing out on some experienced people that went to school later in life. Not very smart IMO unless you are hiring for high-end positions ($200k plus)
