    Pulled from Thorpe's chat yesterday:

    Jeremy H (Minneapolis)

Watching Kevin Martin last night take the Wolves down gave me a new found respect for him. Why would the Rockets want to trade him?

    David Thorpe
    (12:13 PM)

If they can land Pau, it makes sense. But he is not "on the blocks" nor is he sulking or sad about the trade that died. Houston is an interesting team, one of the youngest in the NBA. They are well managed and are playing to their talent currently.

The internet...why would be stop talking about Lee when clearly it is something that is playing at the moment. Feigen is mentioning him so I did the same for this thread. End of discussion.

The Rockets said T-Will was suffering from “post-operative conditions” after a minor surgery last season, probably so he’d just stay home and stop being a distraction. Wouldn’t be surprised if something weird like that popped up again to avoid a locker room cancer situation. T-Will is crazy.

The other concerning matter would be trade value. If other teams were interested in trading for these players they would pick up their options?

It wasn't directly at you, so don't be all butthurt about it. You've had a rough day on here so far. This thread is about team options on the 2009 draft members on the Rockets. Courtney Lee is not one of them. End of discussion.

Lee was expected. He'll be a restricted free agent, and Morey hopes he'll be lucky again, and get a Lowry-type deal that he can match. Hill surprises me a little.

    NO MAKE SENSE

Why doesn't Morey trade Flynn for a 2nd rounder, Thabeet for a 2nd rounder, T-will for a 2nd rounder and Hill for a 2nd rounder instead of letting them walk? Having 4 second rd picks can sweeten any deal

I think Lee gets a longer deal as a RFA than he would if the Rockets extended his contract.

#1 - Nobody wants Thabeet at his price
#2 - He has until March 15 (IIRC) to trade anybody.

just because the option was not picked up does not mean we can't trade them...?

This should leave us with $15+ million in cap room (though Morey could go lower by not exercising options on Dalembert/Budinger/Patterson and not extending Lee a qualifying offer). Those things would open another $13 million in cap space, but he is almost certain to pick up those options and extend Lee a qualifying offer. If he wants more cap space, I think it will come via trade.

Since I started this thread and it revolves around an article of all extensions including Lee (!) there is no reason to call for people to stop talking about his situation. I know what the thread is about since I started it, so no it is not about the team options of the 09 draft ONLY! Haha I've had a really rough day, boo freaking hoo.

Whatever you say. The thread title has nothing to do with Lee, the team options have nothing to do with him. I thought everyone knew Morey's stance on giving out extensions, but apparently not. If you thought Courtney Lee not getting an extension was news worthy, then good for you.

He still can by the trade deadline. Thabeet becomes a "valuable" expiring contract "assets," for instance.

Why make a big deal out of nothing ? Some people are interested in this team and all players and read the title again, maybe then you will understand. The internet...

Rockets decline 2012-2013 option on forward Jordan Hill's contract according to his agent Kevin Bradbury.

    As I expect.

Daryl Morey was smart to have taken the course that I would take.

Hill is not completely useless, but he ain't worth $3.6 mil in the NBA free agency market. You can find a comparable player for less money.
