...that the team is built around Kevin Martin(MK12)? He is our leading scorer with 24pts a game and has even closed a few games for us this season. Couple that with his defense and we have our own little version of a superstar right here. Of course, many of you will disagree, but the truth has been staring us in the face for over a year now. It's time to face the facts people. It may not have been by choice, but it has actually worked out rather well, as i knew it would. What say you? CBL
I don't think anyone doubts how good Martin is on the offensive end. I BELIEVE this is talking about the Gasol trade, so I'll just say you can't teach height. Getting 2 solid 7 footers to build around (Nene and Gasol) would've made the Rockets a lot better than they are now. Though in hindsight maybe Gasol and Dalembert (guy is straight up jockin on everyone) would've been even better.
Kevin Martin is great. He has his ups and downs like any other pplayer, but I think people (even myself) are rough on him sometimes. He's our biggest offensive threat.
Please show where i said these terrible things. I may have pumped them up a little but i never said such a thing.
So-so, if it's Kyle Lowry, a good bit better. Again for the Rockets, we need a player that's better than all of current player (not necessarily a superstar) without losing any of the main guys.

His what? Defense? Kevin Martin plays well on the defensive end? I still haven't seen it, really. I also don't feel like the team is built around him, either. If it was, Morey wouldn't have been so willing to trade him and not Kyle Lowry. I believe it's built around Lowry, evidenced by his rather large spike in usage this season. Martin is a huge beneficiary of that, though, for sure.
He has one more thing left to prove... and that is that he can be consistent. Other wise, he is great. His D improved somewhat so he might actually score more than he gives up. I in part credit this to the two shot blockers standing behind him.
I don't see how you could have missed his much improved defensive play. As a matter of fact, he was well overmatched last night, but he still hustled and was able to get a couple of steals.
This. I hate how this board gets tangled up in an emotional roller coaster. First we started bad and folks were ready to hang the team and commit mass suicide. Let's not get ahead of ourselves now that we're winning with an easy schedule. This team with this rotation still has the same ceiling as last year, borderline playoff team.
K-Marts defense hasn't really improved all that much... its just hidden easier with the better team defense and the addition of a shot blocker.
Always liked him. Still do. Obscene scoring efficiency. But we're going nowhere as a team unless we get a true franchise big, and if he has to be moved for that to happen, you pull the trigger.
