Well can we all agree for one game? I would have to see once Mc Hale threw out his counter to Adelmans small lineup? At that moment Adelman did not adjust and Mc Hale knew better than to go back to his veterans to close out. He just rode out what was working while Adelman did the opposite.
So what if that's their best offensive lineup, going zone on 4 guards is still a stupid move. Your big men gets 2 points, your opponents gets open 3 pt shots. How do you think that will turn out? I guess we can't blame Adelman for not knowing 3>2, he's a HOF coach not a mathematician.
Let's not start sucking each other's popsicles just yet; frankly, Derrick Williams should be embarrassed that he couldn't post up against Martin and score easily every time; and I can't blame Adelman for thinking that the #2 overall pick, a 6'9" PF should be able to score on the block 1 on 1 against one of the worst defenders in the NBA. The move looks genius today, but I didn't hear anyone crowing about the decision to play Terrence Williams as the 4-man against Blake Griffin earlier in the year with no help, no fronting, just 1 on 1.
Well if Mchale used Kmart instead of T-will maybe KM woudl have shut Griffin down LOL. Anyway I think the best defensive moves all night were the eye pokes and neck chops, we should use some of those next game to keep the streak alive.
Mchale has brought that old school Boston toughness to our defense, while Adelman's teams are known for being soft. I also like that he has his players earn their minutes if you are playing well you will play no matter who you are. I think Mchale will improve as a coach with experience..Adelman has been coaching for years while Mchale has less than 100 games.Im interested in seeing his progress.
Gee ... what happened to the Adelman offense? It was all Love in the halfcourt. How many attempts does he take per game?
If Adelman was coaching, he would put in the starters to finish the game especially Martin. Morey>Adelman
Their second meeting iscomingsoon...it would be interestign to see if McHale is going to use the same strategy and coach Rick's response.
The Rockets had better players on the floor last night, if you're looking at 1 through 8. We shouldn't overlook also that Minnesota played underhanded yesterday. The Rockets are pretty much at full strength right now.
Lol way to change your tune to fit your agenda. The game went as expected. Better players and veteran poise won out.
The fact that Michael Beasley and Wesley Johnson didn't play was one of the biggest factors why they only lost by 17 and not 30+. They are like the Aaron Brooks and Jordan Hill for the Rockets last year. Barea could have contributed positively though.

They didn’t lose by 30+ when they played the Heat or OKC with those players. This was their worst loss of the season. Wes Johnson is a bust for his draft position, but he plays pretty good defense and he’s an actual SF, something Derrick Williams is not. Having only 3 guards and no true SF playing meant playing players out of position and playing more extensive minutes than usual. The Rockets still would have won, but durvasa made a usual legitimate point.
we were also 'underhanded' considering that Luis and Dalembert were on the bench. that's 17M salary sitting on crunch time.
