Actually, now that I look at it, Adelman is such a bad coach that he managed to actually make Minny's offense WORSE, from 104 PP100 all the way down to 102. My god, this guy can't even outcoach Kurt Rambis. Right DD?
Irrefutably this team needs a 2 or 3 for 1 deal for future picks or a present star. Of course this being the season of 66 games in 65 nites (sic) depth has greatest value. Now, looking over the rosters of 29 other teams what team(s) is looking to add #s of players? The problem with a full rota of assets is that some depreciate as not all can rise up and shine. Bud will retain trade value through deadline even as he pines to get off the pine.
Is Bud still considered a draft success for Morey? Can you still be a steal if you've fallen out of the rotation at the start of your third season?
Even if he's out of the rotation, he still has trade value so yes. I think there are many teams that would like to have him.
I don't think he can be considered a success anymore. But he's a 2nd rounder so it's not a big surprise or a big deal.
35% is not "pretty good" by any stretch of the imagination. That would be 64th best so far this year.
That's what I remember reading too. Budinger would much rather play Volleyball and be a star there but there's not much money in that so he played Basketball. Can't really motivate someone to do something that he doesn't really have a passion for. Like in the workplace, if I had an excellent typing skills but I find data entry boring as all Hell, I'm not going to be too motivated to knock out heavy projects. I'd do the bare minimum and not push myself. Crappy analogy but yeah. Being good at something doesn't necessarily mean that you like doing it. Guy can jump out of the gym but he wants to do it on the sand.
I wouldn't say he is not good. C-Bud has some abilities. What he lacks to really succeed in this league is FIRE. He has none of it. Most people, if they get pushed, they will push back. Not C-Bud. If he is so passive, how in the hell people expect him to play defense, especially in-your-face D? It ain't happening. But you right, he has nobody but himself to blame.
Jim Petersen : was selected 51st overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1984 NBA draft. He played forward and center for the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors before retiring in 1992. That could be why Bill and Bull are so chummy with the Minnesota announcers. Peterson played well for us back then.. Dude was skinny as hell then beefed up over the next summer and played like man. I have good memory's of Jim running to court and cleaning up the glass. zzpot.
How do you know that he never wanted to play basketball, did he tell you this? So many strange things being said in this thread. It sounds like a lot of people seem to think that Budinger has the talent to be a good player, but he just isn't making the effort necessary to succeed. Maybe he just doesn't have the talent to succeed. Just because someone can run and jump doesn't mean they can be a good player. Parsons seems to be doing well as a rookie because it appears he has good basketball instincts, that's something that some people have and others do not. It could be that players like Budinger and Hill just don't have great basketball instincts, therefore they just don't perform at a high level on a consistent basis. I haven't been to any practices, so I don't know how hard people are competing, but I haven't heard McHale say Bud had given up and was just there to pick up a paycheck. A lot of people around here are trying to read between the lines, or are just making things up and stating it as fact, which I think is wrong. The comments made by the Minnesota announcers are interesting, but I wonder how much of what they said was just conjecture on their part? There are only so many minutes to go around, so someone is going to be the odd man out. It could be that Parsons, Dragic, and Lee are just better players and deserve the playing time.
