Watching DD argue with durvasa is like watching a really cocky but infinitely dumb freshman trying to argue with a professor. Everyone in the class is like "God, just shut up. You don't know what you're talking about. Listen to the professor."

The chances of DD winning this argument are inversely related to DD's IQ. The less DD knows the less you can prove to him. Thus, you cannot defeat his logic.

The difference is that professors can't play or coach basketball, they can read a spread sheet, but can't figure out how those numbers on a spreadsheet correspond to wins.

And there are no numbers for managing personalities on the team, or chemistry.

But other than that...Yeah, I guess I am Gilligan and he is the Professor.

"He just has a way of letting you know he cares for you," Clippers guard and former Timberwolf Randy Foye said. "If a coach does that to any kid, you can beat them down in practice, you can make them work hard, you can push them on the floor. But afterwards if someone is doing their hardest, doing their best and things don't turn out their way, as a team you still have to be together.

"And that's what he showed us: 'We're still on the same team and I love you guys.' And we all loved him back."

    Over, done with that

McHale took over a 4-15 Wolves team that had just lost by 24 points at home to the Clippers and led them to a 10-4 January record before Al Jefferson -- the low-post centerpiece McHale acquired by trading away superstar Kevin Garnett while he wore that general manager's hat for 14 seasons -- blew out his knee in a game at New Orleans.

"I think he found himself those 60 games he coached us," Foye said. "I think he said, 'This is where my heart is at.' You could see he loved being around the younger guys. We were like sponges. The knowledge he gives is just ridiculous."[/rquoter]

None of that is number based, and it is one guy that obviously liked McHale.

I agree, stupid argument but why not ask someone that didn't get along withh him for context?

Maybe someone he moved out of the rotation - would be more appropriate.

What's even more irritating are all the spectators who want to be part of the action.

I can appreciate a disagreeable opinion but not somebody who calls people out but doesn't bring anything on the table. It just fills the thread with crap.

PS. I am not saying McHale is wrong for moving CBud to the bench, if he is going with 8, that is the way it is.....but CBud's production is nearly identical to both Parsons and CLee, it is not that much of a drop off if at all, and because he is a cheap contract, you keep in in case of injury etc.

Unless, of course a trade comes along that makes the organization better and they like him.

My last comment about this, is that I do not think McHale has utilized CBud correctly, nor Scola, nor Kmart (He is actually coming around a bit), and it could be that he needs more time to find the right buttons to push.

But Kevin moved Chase from the starting unit so he could be the main scoring threat on the 2nd unit then promptly starts bringing in KMart with that unit, pushing Chase further to the edge of the offense again.

If you are Chase, you have to be wondering WTF he is doing, when he says one thing and does another.

I am sure this will all get worked out.....and that is cool, but Chase is not a bad player and no matter how much people want to hate the guy his production is pretty even with the 2 guys that replaced him in Parsons and CLee.

I thought this was about McHale. He's a numbers guy?

Since you are asserting that McHale is bad at managing player personalities, can you point out any example of a player he's coached being upset with him? The one thing I've always heard about McHale's prior coaching stints is that his players loved playing for him. Randy Foye's comment ("And that's what he showed us: 'We're still on the same team and I love you guys.' And we all loved him back.") is just supporting that.

Nope I will concede that some players obviously like him. I guess someone will have to actually ask Chase how he feels to find out if he is ok with him too.

Yes. Personally, and I don't have much to go on, I think he probably is just frustrated he hasn't been able to play better under the new coach when he had the opportunity. I think another big factor here is that his playing time has gone down as our schedule has become easier (particularly, playing time with Lowry). Maybe he would have gotten into a rhythm these past 3 or 4 games if he was still the starter. Having to start against that initial brutal schedule and without much practice time, its understandable why he'd struggle.

Actually, if we are looking for draft picks, the fact that Buddhinger has such a low price contract is really helpful, since it means a lot of teams would not have to send anything back and could just fit him under their cap. Alternatively, it also means he could be thrown into a deal as a talent positive without taking up much salary space.

based on some of his offensive outbursts in the previous seasons, there are probably a few teams willing to give up something in exchange for cbud, possibly even a late 1st rounder. unless he is going to be part of a trade package, i think this is the way to go b/c it looks like mchale is not going to put up w/ his defensive liabilities going forward.

McHale has helped elevate Lowry and Lee's percentages. Meanwhile that bad coach over in Minny has stifled Love's growth (aka percentages) as well as Beasley, Tolliver, Johnson, and Milicic.
