Rubio is still a better shooter than a rookie Lowry. If Lowry can improve his shot I see no reason why Rubio couldn't.

So now that Rubio has been exposed to be who we though he was -- a superb passer who can't shooter, will people be as enthusiastic about him as they were before?

Lowry dominated a rookie with 4-13 shooting. Rubio should retire after that, he is a new Busty Telfair

People improving their shot don't happen that often. Usually when a guy has a broken jumper they have broken jumpers all throught their career, even stars like Melo, AI, Francis, Rondo etc. couldn't improve their accuracy significantly. One of the few exceptions I can think of aside from Lowry is LBJ and Kidd.

Rubio exceptional big hands make him hard to perfect his jumpers. Sort of like Shaq cant shoot free throws. This will bud Rubio his whole career.
Unless he master Mark Jackson like hook shots else I don't see Rubio as an effective scorer in this league.
Right now Kemba Walker has better offensive game than Rubio.

    BOTTOM LINE:

Rubio is a good young player, but he has holes in his game. He has to bump his head & develop. Some on this board talk like he's the 2nd coming and really need to pump their brakes. He might just be a really good NBA starter for 10years & there is nothing wrong with that.

    Rubio sucks.
    All flash no substance.

He can't even shoot. Rondo muscles his way past his man and can use his exceptional athleticism, long arms/big hands, and amazing court vision to find players without having to look for his shot. Rubio is going to get muscled and demolished every night. There are maybe two guards in the NBA that he is stronger than?

What about in the playoffs where the amount of fast breaks will be limited and the pace slowed down?

    G - Kyle Lowry / Ricky Rubio

    East

On clutchfans you are as good as your last game...then again, Rubio ended up having 12 assits, didnt see anyone mention that?

We claim Lowry is a top 5 PG, then we trash the other player for being outplayed by our star PG...Dont get it, just because Lowry bullied him doesnt mean hes bad, I mean, is there any PG doesnt get Bullied by Lowry except for Westbrooke or Rose?

This is so sad, some of our members have officially become sour losers, they actually hate other teams success simply because we are stuck in this hole and theres no easy way out.

Now, lets see our top 5 PG lead us to WCF.

    What part of 10.7, 4.5, 8.5 don't you understand?

Rubio is going to get demolished every night? I do not know how you can sit and type this nonsense that when he's played way above expectations and is obviously thriving out there.

We obviously need a new word to describe bad players because "sucks" clearly isn't what it used to be.

I'm still trying to figure out whether or not you're trolling. A little sarcastic smiley would help here.

Not bad for overhyped Eurotrash. Adelman also did a nice job outcoaching Popovich and Carlisle after being badly outcoached by Coach McHale.

Haven't said much lately about Rubio. But after watching these vids, there is no way that any basketball intelligent person can look at Rubio and see anything besides a superstar.

Ricky takes the game by the throat and squeezes until the game coughs up what he wants.

In case you all don't realize it, he's getting better right in front of your little eyes. He's making that whole sorry mess of a team in Minny get better right in front of your eyes. He's even got the haters flipping the channel to watch him. He may very well lead that sorry team right into the playoffs this season.

Wow, I can't believe people still buy the myth that big hands makes it hard to become a good shooter. That was just Shaq's way of trying to make excuses for his poor shooting. I remember there was a 7'6" giant that used to take technicals for the Rockets. I seriously doubt Rubio's hands are bigger than Yao's and Yao was a ridiculously accurate shooter. Unless you think Rubio's hands are bigger than Yao's or Jordan's or even Stockton's all of whom were pretty good shooters.

Ricky Rubio is an amazing rookie. But even the most amazing of rookies do not single-handedly turn around a franchise that quickly. Rick Adelman deserves a large bulk of the credit for their improvement. I was reading an article on the Wolves and a Minny fan made the following comment:

In a season in which we've had so many injuries, and so little time for practice, I am just flat out blown away at how fast this team is coming together. AND how much growth individual players have been showing. Adelman has had, what, 45 days with the players so far? Adelman is the best thing that has ever happened with this franchise.

Anyway, you’re going a little overboard in the other thread saying Minny is a playoff lock. There’s basically only one wide open spot in the wild, wild west and it’s going to go to a team with more veteran experience (Houston, Memphis, or Utah.) They have a bright future with Rubio as a risinig star, though.

Yea, the shaq thing is simply we know he has questionable work ethic for one, and he is also freakishly different and his entire form was off. Rubio, like lowry, Kidd if he focuses on it can improve. His instincts are amazing, he is ahead of lowry in all fronts except defense as a rookie, although his instincts are great on defense and he is top 3 in steals. It sounds like some people wouldn't take a lowry for rubio trade on this threat...and I don't know if its worth reasoning with them if that is how they feel.

When was the last time a rookie a rookie was top 3 in assists and steals in the entire league, he may end up top 2 in both this year
