I'am sorry for Hayes's lovers but it was so clear that Dalembert will improve the defence. Thats why Morey doesn't resign Hayes.

Chuck is all heart and IQ and he makes a lot for the Rockets and deserve the best.
But we where going nowhere with a 6'5 center.

I hope this stats ends the discussion, and we dont need to reed 100 times "oh, how i missed chuck" every time we loose.

If the Rockets aren't on track for the playoffs at the deadline he could be traded for a good young player or a first round pick I bet. As it stands I think the Rockets will make the playoffs if Dalembert, Lowry, and Parsons continue to exceed expectations.

Most of all, he was probably too expensive for the Rockets taste. They just are not going to want too much money for any player.

Dalembert vs. Hayes is not necessarily an either-or question. Chuck can easily play the minutes that Dalembert doesn't play (he's better than Jordan Hill at least) or play PF minutes.

And yes, we do miss Chuck.

Chuck Hayes is a PF, not a C... I'm not sure why people insist on comparing the two...

I wonder how this team would look If you had Sam, Pat & Chuck, instead of Sam, Pat & Luis...

Sam, Luis, and Chuck would be the rotation.

Wish I could help, and there aren't too many on here that are bigger Chuck Hayes supporters than me. But I'll have to side with pgabriel on this.

Chuck is a remarkable defender. He has to play close to perfect to be as effective as he is, and he does it. But as a defensive center, Dalembert is more effective. One thing I've learned the last few years -- we shouldn't underestimate the importance of a rim protector.

    Thanks.

I just fear Dalembert may be playing above his head a little bit.

Still shocking that we got him at the same price as Kwame Brown.

Sammy has been better than I thought he would be.

I expected his defense to be what it is, what I did not expect was the offensive moves he brought.

I thought he would be Ariza esque, where he would take too many ill advised shots and missed most of them. This hasn't been the case.

That was his scouting report. Let's hope he keeps playing smart.

Also, I read he often made dumb mistakes on defense, though he always has been a very good shotblocker and defender.

Seems like he's just really motivated.

Hayes is better at offense than you think. And I am quite confident that sooner or later Pat will be as good a scorer as Scola.

I am not. He is pretty atrocious around the rim.

I am tired of posters shouting about "spoiling" the future by signing Dalembert or attempting to win basketball games. There is no one on planet earth, (besides JVG of course..) who can be assured of anything next year, two years or when that 15 year old phenom leaves school. It's a crap shoot. I leave future trades to Les and Morey, coaching to Coach McHale, and screaming for the The Right Now Rockets to me, and you too, right?

Andrew Bynum is the perfect case in point. Melo ain't so mellow in the Apple, right?
When the magic happens it is often where least expected. I'm going to kick back and watch what Sammie & company can accomplish right now.

At least I'll be enjoying today, instead of chasing a dream.
