Oh OK. I am still waiting for the Mitt scandal to come out. I heard he once took a shot of an 80 proof alcohol.

Unless they believe it would lead to an Obama landslide, kill them in congressional elections and rip the party apart anyway.

I feel certain something will happen to knock Newt off the tracks. There may be one or two more skunks in his closet.

Newt may derail himself. I don't think the party has the power to derail him without causing too much damage to their own interests.

Edit: Romney should push the judicial reform issue in the next debate. (There is another one right?)

Tonight, in fact! We have two this week, but then we have a huge lull - I think only 1 or 2 in February. That's going to be Romney's chance to pull away because Newt won't be getting all the free media exposure and he doesn't have infrastructure in all the caucus states coming up.

It's sponsored by NBC, but I'm not sure if it's on NBC (doubtful) or more likely on MSNBC?

I don't know man, this is the party that is currently trying every way they can to throw the middle class into the sewer just to oppose Obama. Eating themselves alive to try and "save" just a single election from Newt doesn't seem as crazy as it would 12 years ago.

this is why i think this race is still romney's to lose. not only does newt not have the infrastructure in many states, he doesn't even qualify to be on the ballot in a couple of states.

take this with a grain of salt, the delegate count to date -

I know technically the more money a candidate has, the bigger and more expansive his campaign will be in comparison with the other's... but this is taking it to another level which I'm sure is part of the norm.

Newt trying to move to the left of Romney.

    What a weird presidential cycle.

Which adults, A_3PO? I now think Gingrich is going to win the nomination. Why? Several reasons, but I'll just name a couple. South Carolina showed that "The Republican Base" simply can't stand Mitt Romney. They dislike him so much that they are willing to ignore the gigantic baggage Newt is carrying around with him, they have decided that he is The Alternative To Romney, and they are now coalescing around him as the Standard-Bearer of the formerly Grand Old Party. How has this happened? Several reasons, but one of the biggest is when Romney made his now famous (at least it should be famous) declaration that he paid around 15% in income tax to the IRS (and I know why it was that number... doesn't matter). The Base flipped out, that being what many of them pay, and they aren't millionaires, much less worth north of $280,000,000. And Mitt belongs to a religion that they are most familiar with from the HBO show, Big Love. It's a perfect storm of suck for Mitt Romney.

Newt's going to be ridden hard by the faithful all the way into the ground come election day. It's going to be beautiful. The Democratic Party will make gains in the House, possibly big gains. And I am so looking forward to it. :)-
