I planned on going to at least one Rockets game this season, and with my completion of the Rockets Run 5k, I am finally able to do so So here are my questions: What is the best food that they offer? Is it expensive? Would bringing my girlfriend(if I get one) be a good idea or should I just stick with the brahs? How many friends should I go with? How do you get the players' autographs? Is it hard to meet girls at an NBA game?
Food is expensive, I'd eat beforehand and just get a snack, maybe some nachos (make sure to get the loaded not sure what they are called but they are only a few bucks more and you get a lot more). My girlfriend and I always go to games, and it is a lot of fun for a date. They do a great job at the game keeping it entertaining. The amount of people won't matter, 2-4 is how many I usually go with. Rockets games are not that expensive so the more the merrier. I have never gotten autographs at a game, but I usually don't make it until right before tip off, whenever we go we always hit up the bars around down town until last minute ha. Picking up girls at the game would be talented haha, but before and after the game the bars are poppin.
Just get to downtown early and picnic outside of Discovery Green. That's what we did on Saturday. Went to That new Mediterranian grocery store two blocks up from Dicovery and bought some great salad, walked to the park and ate and walked to TC. The only thing I eat at the games are peanuts because they screw up everything else.
Yeah the only good food places I've found are the Vietnamese Ban Mih (sp?) place and the BBQ place. Rest is really bad overpriced "ballpark" food.
I've eaten damn near everything at Toyota Center. The best by far is the Banh. It's 7 bucks though. It received the Ball Park inflation price. I'm still looking for Jambalaya. Can't find it. Chicks are hot in the lower level, sadly I never sit there.
Thanks for all the tips, brahs! I'll probably take reeko_htowns advice and eat somewhere else prior to the game. Overpaying for bad food doesn't sound too appealing
What is the best food that they offer? Is it expensive? Most of the food is your standard sports venue food....overpriced and not very good. The exception to that is they have a "meat carving" place where you can get a plate of turkey, brisket, and sausage for $15. Not a great price but the food is much more edible. Would bringing my girlfriend(if I get one) be a good idea or should I just stick with the brahs? Either. The game atmosphere is very laid back in my opinion but if you want to be rowdy, bring the fellas. How many friends should I go with? The more the merrier. Les needs your $$ to sign a top Free Agent! How do you get the players' autographs? Arrive early for shoot around. They will stop by usually between walking from the locker room to the floor at that time. Very casual and laid back. Is it hard to meet girls at an NBA game? No harder than meeting them elsewhere I suppose although MOST women do not attend unless with a date or significant other.
The best food they offer is at the Red and White Wine Bistro. It's super expensive--like 40$, but the food is amazing and great for like a special occasion. Definitely bring a girl. If she doesn't like basketball, you don't want her anyway. I've seen some players around after the game to sign autographs.
look take a back pack with you, put some ice inside then put the coke at the bottom of the backpack, on the side you can put a slice of pizza or a sandwich and there you have your meal for the game
If you want autographs, they let fans down by the tunnels during shoot around, but you have to get there right when the doors open, and go straight there. They'll eventually make everyone head back up, usually about 45 minutes to an hour before the game starts. At the Compaq Center we used to wait outside where the players drove their cars out of the garage, and some would stop, but unfortunately we don't have that luxury anymore. Just be sure to bring a sharpie. As far as food goes, it's expensive, and nothing I'd brag about. They have the 3 meat plate for $13 that's probably top of the line, unless you're sitting in the club area. They have a chicken tender basket that comes with fries for about $9, the salads are good too, but they'll run you $9-10. Unless I'm really hungry, like Reeko, this year I've been sticking to peanuts (and beer, of course). Definitely bring your girl, even if she's not a big sports fan, the experience alone is enjoyable. Be sure to check the promotion schedule, if you're going on a giveaway night, get there extra early to take advantage. Pugs
Ballers don't ask for autographs. They sign them. You are a baller, aren't you? At least I thought you were.
It's sort of like Arian exchanging jerseys with Ray Lewis, it's mutual respect. This isn't to say that I'm as good as KLow or Luis, but I do have the respect of my rivals from where I play, just like they get respect from their opponents when they play in the nba
lol your threads crack me up man just sneak in snacks or eat before you leave your house. food at Toyota center is really expensive
